Sureshot Vs Pureshot

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

The "pure" shot or the frame with no alien elements in has been my goal for so long I don't know what made me search for it. Basic aesthetics principles, perhaps. During my photojournalism training I was thaught other reporters were to be out of the frame, out of the story. Once Upon A Time that was the authentic story. In our reality, stories without other observers are like unicorns. That depends on the genre, of course, but where there are people involved, the are their cameras, too.

For the past ten years, maybe a little less, traditional dancers, performers, etc. carry their smartphones in hands. And I try to do the impossible to have them framed without one.

And during personal celebrations my clients are often surrounded by relatives, shooting at my targets. All right then. I have to evolve, too, and take advantage of that. What's a pure shot, anyway?

I love doing that too, a shot within a shot, nicely done @manoldonchev!

To me, a pure shot is one that captures the environment of the moment. Sometimes, taking a picture of the media frenzy instead of what they're swarming around is more interesting.

What is the subject then become the question - the piranha's victim, or the school of chaos surrounding it?
