maneki-neko 'ClayMan Chronicles' - FULL ALBUM

in #dtube7 years ago

I am pleased to announce the release of my new album - 'ClayMan Chronicles'. This album chronicles a day in the life of Gumby. This is the recording in its entirety.

This album is comprised completely of samples from 'The Adventures of Gumby', a television show that aired from 1987-1989, as the amazing audio soundtrack and audio effects of the show had a massive influence on my musical mind. Again every sound you hear has been sourced only from Gumby's world, and manipulated into a new musical work.

Special thanks go to the shows original cast and crew but especially Jerry Gerber (music composition), Larry Oppenheimer (music editor), and James Allen (sound effects designer), and also to Premavision Studios.
I own and clam no copyright to the original sounds and this work can be classified under the fair-use act, as it is intended as a parody of the original.

Thank you so much for listening, and enjoy!

That is very new to me 😄

Thnx for sharing though

Winny out...for now ;)

I love instrumental albums and this is some awesome experimental shit!

Listening to this right now :)

For some reason this album reminds me of Pee-Wees Playhouse on Acid. IS the Gumby chronicles related to that show in any way??

Cool shit man!

Resteemed

Thanks!
When I was researching for this album, I was trying to find a link between the two shows, but I could not.
However they give very vague/little credit to the sound designers of Pee Wee's playhouse, so it is entirely possible it was he same crew. It certainly sounds that way to me as well. But, perhaps that was just the late 80's Nickelodeon style - which sort of transformed into the Rugrats sound lol.

If you want to know why years of my life were spent mixing minimal techno in underground clubs as a teenager - look no further then these few seconds - it used to run around in my head as a child continuously :

Yeah. Goingggggg to need a little more explanation here. I just rocked it for ten minutes in the van and either the music from Gumby is 40x more interesting and avant-garde than I remember or you are a pastiche sound editing and manipulating genius.

Or both.

Heh heh heh.

The music and sfx from 'the Adventures of Gumby' is wonderful.

This album was in no way a small undertaking for me. All the hi hats and snares and bass drums were taken out of context from random moments of speech and sfx from the show. Then chopping up the synthesizer flares, and looping the amazing textures from the backgrounds. And compiling it into something entirely new, but reminiscent of the shows original feelings.

The album is meant to chronicle a 24 hour period in the life of Gumby, sort of the deeper untold story.
It begins in the middle of the night in dream-state, progresses through a lovely morning, then sometime in the afternoon there is an amount of drama, with things taking a darker turn. Gumby's friends come to his aid after trials and tribulations, then the evening is spent in appreciation and somber reflection.

The album is divided into three acts, previously I had named and time stamped all the tracks, but I feel it actually works better as one continuous piece.

Thank you for enjoying.
