Replacing the Chain on a Husqvarna 450 Rancher Chainsaw

in #dtube5 years ago (edited)

Here is the video I put together showing the little trick to replacing your chain on the Husqvarna 450 Rancher. I ran into an issue tossing the chain when I ran into some metal fencing on accident. I did this in the middle of cleaning up my city property before its sale.

In the video I show you how to release the chain break so the bar cover easily may be removed and re-installed. Hopefully this is helpful for someone that may run into this issue.

I meant to say you can remove the cover when the chain brake is Not Engaged!

Thank you for checking it out!

Peace and Joy,
Greg @makinstuff

Nice work! Keep that tool running it can be a lifesaver.

Might want to do a video on keeping the blade sharp. Hope you mark the start link.

Thanks bud, absolutely I'll make a video on that. I know there is def a trick to keep the curve in the teeth for optimal cutting. Watched a video by a youtuber I like purelivingforlife that talked about the very subject. Also watched some vids by a small engine repair dude that talked about always letting your chainsaw warm up for a bit to keep the pistons in good shape. Going from cold to wide open has the potential to kill your piston due to a rapid thermal expansion.

They get rounded as your not a machine. And yeah better you get at keeping the angle and teeth correct the better it cuts. Which is seriously important. A dull saw takes forever.
