Peacock at Leeds Castle, England

Beautiful bird, the peacock, found walking on the ground of Leeds Castle in England. The peacock appears to be a female according to her walking posture and the haughtiness in the gait. Her beautiful feather tail is a sight to be admired, especially when it is fanned out. Unfortunately, her tail remained close on the day of our visit to Leeds Castle.

I kept following her as she walked near the lake on the castle ground. Once she noticed being followed she turned her head around and gave me a glare. That must be peacock instinct, no different from humans. We don't like being followed, especially by a stranger, and be cautious. The peacock instinct is to let the stranger know that she knows you're following her and therefore would not be able to creep up on her. Furthermore, she recognized her own relatives nearby (ducks near pond) and realized strength in number. As such, she continued her lovely walk and was not frightened by her stalker, me LoL. What a smart, beautiful bird!
