Hello everyone, Welcome to my today's travel blog. Today's is Sinhala & Tamil new year to Sri Lankan people. So we're ready to do some cultural rituals on time in time zone. Because this year isn't good time for the celebration. So we respect our government decision always. It'll very first time we spend our new year day without worship in temple and without participating relations in new year food table. That's enough. I decided to share very spiritual location where I visited Kalugala Monastery located in Kalutara district in Sri Lanka.
Kaluagala area very similar background where I living my childhood days. We passed among small tea estates.
We walked through monastery road parked our vehicle very near Baduraliya road. Kalugala has more rubber plantation. I saw some workers worked inside rubber estates. However very cool spot to everyone.
If you are traveling by public transport, first get to Baduraliya and board a bus to Kalugala. The bus stops at the start of the road leading to the Kalugala forest. From there you can walk about 2 Km to the Kalugala monastery. If you come in your own vehicle you can take your vehicle to the nearest Kalugala.
We entered the wetland forests, rich in the sound of birds and the sound of flowing streams. Walking through the forest one step at a time, you will be filled with a sense of calmness.
While our walked we could see little water streams somewhere. It gives us big inspiration and freshness mood.
Since came to this place we were silence because some of monks did deep meditation among the forest. So our noises could be disturb to their main purpose.
Though not very popular, Kalugala is a place rich in natural and spiritual beauty. This beautiful place is situated in Kalugala village in Kalutara district.
Now we came to the entrance stairs. These stairs built from concrete. There are two pure pots two sides. It's common characteristics of Buddhist temples and monastery.
Still our climbed through up stairs I captured coolest tree. I really know that, this tree perfect for meditation.
This is how the Buddha performed the difficult deeds before he attained enlightenment.
After the entered monastery land, we went Buddha statue place built very recently. Behind statue seemed historical Bo tree. We worshiped both Buddhism properties spiritually. Both side of entrance can see lion's statues built from stones.
Inside of the monastery land such a beautiful with various plants and trees. Monks always want to our silence. Their purposes so much higher than humans. So we must need to care about it when we came like these monastery locations.
Because of its forest cover, snakes and other animals abound. Therefore, safety concerns are of paramount importance. From the surroundings of the forest, you can see the mountains covered with trees. It is more beautiful than the pictures.
We spent some time in the Kalugala monastery and headed back home. This was indeed a very short journey. This is not a popular wildlife sanctuary, so there is no harm in the environment. It is your responsibility to be as quiet and polite as possible, since the monks are living there. Thanks for reading. See you again. Be safe and stay healthy.
