There has been a great transformation for Africans. Over the years the African child is now known in the international world, gone are the days when we were enslaved by culture and traditions. We have worked to preserve our culture and language and have preserved it till date. Today Africans are known as very talented people in the world and we are opportune to work for ourselves to eliminate poverty both men and women.

The African child celebration

The African child really deserve to be celebrated, we work very hard for ourselves and we have also passed through a lot in the past.
Though many countries are still in poverty, suffering and sickness, majority of the countries has become better.

The celebration of the African day took place as an event organised by the school my cousins attend and I was present with them.

I was able to stay back from work and go with my aunt @ngoenyi just to witness this grand celebration.

After completing work at home we got to the venue at Aunty bassey schools. We got there at the right time for the presentations to begin. There the kids represented many African countries. The following countries and more were represented:
Nigeria, Mali, Senegal, Cameron, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, Benin Republic, Libia, South Africa, Sudan, Ethiopia, Algeria, Benin republic, Congo, Kenya and other countries too.

Below you can see them and some of the countries they represented:

The kids were able to represent each country and their culture and conditions. They explained the meaning of their flag, coat of arms , traditional foods, dressing and so on.
My cousin @fortwis09 represented the Morocco tribe and I was able to make her dress for.

She made a presentation where she explained the coat of arms of Morocco. The first speaker talked about the flag while explained the significance of the coat of arms.

The Moroccan coat of arms

The royal coat of arms of Morocco was officially adopted on August 20 1957.

The crest in the coat of arms represents the crown of Morocco, The two lions in the coat of arms represents courage and strength, and the red ribbon represents a phrase in Arabic which means If you help Allah, he will help you.

That was the short presentation my cousin made in that video.
I loved learning about new African countries from the children.
I learned about the countries Liberia and Libia who are still facing past African difficulties such as child labour, childhood marriage, women and child discrimination, Poor or no education for women, etc.

There were many dance presentations by the African children from the different countries:

Below you can see the warrior dance presentation of the Benin republic of Africa

I also liked the dance presentation from the Ethiopian tribe. I leave you the video below:

The African child deserve to be celebrated

We work hard to provide for ourselves, we are talented and great people and we deserve the respect of the world.

Celebration of the African child raises awareness of the continuing need for improvement for the education of African children. Also some African countries traditions need improvements just like other countries in Africa has improved.
I pray for all other African countries that are still facing difficulties today.

It was a great event and celebration organised by the school. I'm happy to have attended and see how well African countries were represented.
Everything was colorful and it brought smiles to all African parents and teachers present.

The need to preserve our African language was stressed and parents especially Nigerians should keep teaching their kids their mother tongue even though we have been colonized by the British nation and we are now used to the English language.

Thank you for reading!
