The world's best sunset spots in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Malaysia Borneo

Many of you may have heard of it or been to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah but not many actually know that KK is one of the world's best sunset spots in the world among a few other places.
For those who have been to Sabah, one of the must do things when in Kota Kinabalu is to appreciate the opportunity to view it's beautiful sunsets every evening from the Waterfront in the city or the ever popular Tanjung Aru beach. It has been declared to be perhaps among the world's best spots to view glorious sunsets every evening.
Many visitors to the world's oldest island have made wonderful comments about its amazingly beautiful sunsets including a traveler and blogger by the name of Kathleen Peddicord who mentioned that;
"Often overlooked in favor of more high-profile destinations nearby, Borneo’s coastal town of Kota Kinabalu offers a dramatic backdrop for sunset-viewing. Hit the local food market for some dumplings or noodles, grab your picnic blanket, and set up camp on the town’s beach. From that spot, you’ll have a perfect view as the sun falls behind Mount Kinabalu (the highest peak in Borneo)."

There are few spots in Kota Kinabalu where many photographers bring their best cameras to take the best shots of the daily sunsets. The top five places that I've enjoyed sunset views in Kota Kinabalu City are;
- Tanjung Aru Beach (a must)
- Signal Hill Observatory Tower
- Shangri-la Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa (STAR)
- The Peak of Bukit Padang
- Waterfront

True to your words, KK holds a thousand and one mystical view. I remembered on my several visits to Sabah, I chose the early evening to be at the waterfront just to see the sun sets amongst the fleet of ships and boats . As I watched the sun slide gently down, silhouetted by the clouds, leaving shadowy image... truly magnificent!
