Living to the hilt and getting back to reality

in #travelfeed5 years ago

Yesterday was a day spent beautifully and today is another day to look forward to. Day two.

I set my alarm at five o'clock in the morning but was lazy to get up. I finally stood from bed at around six o'clock to see that only a few of us were awake. Those who were already awake were sitting in bed foams scattered downstairs. Except for two, the other guys were still fast asleep.

It was drizzling and the sky was cloudy. That only tells us that scuba diving is still not possible. We were back to the question of what do we do now? We switched to the topic of what time the others called yesterday a day and concluded their drinking session. One of them who stayed the latest said that majority stopped at around one o'clock in the morning. A few stayed up to around three o'clock. Whoah! No wonder why they are still asleep like cooking oil in winter.

After about an hour or so of chit-chatting and thinking of what we should order for lunch, we decided to go up the dining hall for breakfast. We called out for other who were still asleep and we started our way out of the cottage. It was still drizzling but we enjoyed waking through it.

We took few photos from this dining area outside the hall last night and I wondered if it is possible to have breakfast here. But then again, it was raining. I can only imagine the coziness dining here with the calm sea view below.

On the way inside the dining hall is this painting. My father did not tell me the saying but life taught me that there are really suckers on earth. Some do it to get ahead of others. Some do it because of laziness that they just want to keep receiving for free and not work to get what they want. Ah, what a thought in the early morning.

After breakfast we went back to our cottage, still wondering what to do with the gloomy weather.

Majority decided to just spend time swimming and have unlimited photo shoots to their liking while few of us opted to stay in our cottage and enjoy doing nothing. The men were teasing each other of finishing the three cases of beer that were not consumed from last night.

... while I struggled to catch that bird from the other end of the porch. And I did! Do you see it?

At pass nine o'clock, those who went swimming came back and we were back to the question of what to do next. The sky has gone clear and the sun has shone but there was no longer enough time for scuba diving. We need to check out at noon time.

Then I heard, "ATV." Yes, we went riding ATV again. This time, my partner was our CEO. And when I took over driving, I almost hit a mango tree on a slope! Yeah, just almost so it's okay. Our CEO was exclaiming, "Stop, stop, stop!" at my back. I have to admit the ATV we used this time was heavier to be maneuvered. Add to that the thick mud from the rain yesterday and this morning. There were instances when few of us got stuck in the mud and needed manual pushing to move forward. It was so hard to make a turn with the ATV unit but I would love to try it again on a slope and such mud. It will be cool conquering the challenge.

When we got by the seaside, our crew guide motioned that we stop and line up. We were wondering why then he asked if someone brought a cellphone. I thought we got a defective unit that he needs to call for help. But when one of my colleagues handed her phone, our guide motioned us to look at him. Ohhh, he wanted to take a shot of us in line with the lovely sea view on the background. They did not do this yesterday because it was raining and the sky was much darker. That was so cool of our guide to capture memories for us!

This photo is from one of my colleagues and is used with permission. Can you find me there?

After the ATV ride, we rushed and lined up to the bathrooms. There were only two bathrooms, thirteen of us lining up and it was pass eleven o'clock. I was actually still in line when the resort admin called our cottage to remind us of the check out at twelve noon. Good luck on the marathon shower.

We started to vacate the cottage at pass noon. The crews with garbage bags arrived to clean the unit up while we walk out to the dining hall for our lunch.

Here is to our last walk from Peace cottage.

And a last shot of our neighboring cottages.

Our HR was saying, "mukha namang nag-enjoy ang mga alaga mo."

"It looks like your wards have enjoyed so far." She referred to my team members as my wards. I am not sure why she was keen about my team but I guess it was because we are the majority of the whole gang.

Obviously, my team very much enjoyed the getaway! That's including myself.

After our lunch, we started going back to our coaster in the parking area but our CEO said we first go to the beach for photo shoot. I got myself busy shooting while our official photographer was setting up his tripod.

Here is the view on the other side from our cottage. This side is actually where the background photo of Stilts website was taken.

The official photographer was taking some time with his tripod so I just went on shooting the team who were not ready with my shot. I was at the back of the camera so do not try to find me on the photo. 😊

After the official photographer finally took our group photo, it was the moment of truth. We all walked back to the parking area. I turned around and took one last shot of the serene beach.

On the way to the parking, this beautiful ball of flowers was waiting right at my face level along the pathway. I can't help taking a shot.

Farther out from the beach is a garden to the parking area. This was hanging overhead on our way out. Indeed, it was great to be at Stilts! How I wished that all the other three members who were left manning our operations were also with us.

But they were not totally zeroed out from the fun. Special arrangement was made for them for overnight stay-cation for two at Crimson hotel. A five-star!

The following day Monday, my torso, specially on my back and shoulders, was aching too bad that can pass for body pains from flu. I knew it was because of the ATV maneuvering. I thought I would call in sick in the office but I have to keep moving otherwise the muscles would get stiff all the more. We all thrived back to work on Monday morning but back in our minds were the fun and excitement from the previous weekend. It was a great time that we relive the fun during casual chats or break time.

Now, that is called "back to reality"!

Howdy macoolette! Back to reality indeed. But it had to feel good in a way, going back with such a close-knit group. I see that the people who had to stay behind were also rewarded, that is very good!

The three who stayed behind were very appreciative that they also have their share even if they were paid on duty. Two of them had already taken their hotel accommodation. Both were saying the food is superb and that is what they enjoyed the most other than the hotel's facilities like the pool and the gymn. It was good to know that they somehow enjoyed their time without us.

Howdy again macoolette! It IS very good to know that they enjoyed themselves but I'm sure they missed the fellowship with their coworkers too. I assume. lol.
