Community Service Day 5 - It's Getting More Challenging
It's getting more challenging...
The fifth day of our service was spent on meeting and teaching children. There are plenty children in this neighborhood who happen to love visiting our homestay. When the children are in our place, we teach them coloring and other things which are necessary for their age, which is around 8-12 years old. They are smart and surprisingly easier to manage and showing less symptom of addiction to gadget. That's being shown from their habit of still playing traditional games at the afternoon.
On the fifth day from our arrival, we also sent out invitation to the elders of this village. We were divided into two groups. The first one explore far south and the other team explored just nearby the homestay. The team who explored further south, managed to find an amazing spot to take pictures.
Although this place is geographically common in Indonesia, I still think there's an element of unique vegetation in this area. It's unlike what I have seen in Bali. The rice field is flat but surrounded by coconut trees. The weather is colder in contrast to an area which is only located 25 minutes away from the ocean. Below illustrates the situation in my area in the morning. It's frosty, hazy and definitely cold.
Tomorrow night, we're going to meet the elders of the village. I am a bit nervous though I have no problem whatsoever. I am good at blending in and I seem to be just fine yet others, they're my only concern at this point. Another concern of mine is my own mental health. The tolerance I have towards other is lowering. I consumed more herbs than my normal dosage to help me sustain my tolerance. I think it's due my inability to control my energy consumption. I put too much energy the first few days and I am burning out swiftly. I just hope this rollercoaster doesn't crash too soon.
Keep pushing through and you'll make it just fine. Are you allowed to group up with some people for a walk to the ocean?
yep :)
