Imagine The World Where Every Light Could Connect You To The Internet - Meet Li-Fi, 100X faster than Wi-Fi

in #technology7 years ago

Wi-Fi has revolutionized global communications but sometimes the connection is less than dependable.

Imagine walking into any room, turning on a light, and have super fast internet available for multiple devices.

Meet Li-Fi, 100X faster than Wi-Fi. Li-Fi works with an ordinary light bulb that transmits multiple high-speed data streams with speeds of up 100GB/sec.

To the human eye, it just looks like a light is on. Even if you dim the light you still stay connected.

Imagine the world where every light could connect you to the internet.

Lights that illuminate our offices, homes, cars and our streets also connecting us to data and powering our growing demand for connectivity. pureLiFi

How cool would Li-Fi be to use?

Wow!! That is sooooo amazing!! Of course this guy is German 😆
Can't wait for this!!!

Shoot i remember when wifi wasnt out yet but the nintendo ds [the first ones] had an option but ppl still didnt know that was, hell i though it was was pronounced we-fee lol, [i was 9 or 10 then] and now this! Lifi, so cool and speed will be awesome!

I would give it a try.

LiFi sounds awesome, I would love to stop paying $100 a month for mediocre internet.

That's steep. I'm lucky, live in Mexico and have private, fast internet included in the rent.

Check these guys out. http://purelifi.com/

I'm sold! Is there an altcoin I can invest in for this project ;)

Nice @luzcypher and i like you

This would revolutionize the way we communicate

I remember when I read about LiFi long back in 2012 . I even read recently they got funding for their project in Singapore . Big Companies like Phillips are already partnered with their technology of light and data . Our future is definitely very bright with the help of Phillips and Lifi .

Special Thank to COLD FUSION . I really love his YouTube channel , he is very informative and always updated with latest innovation and technology .

I've been trying to convince my friends to consider investing in Li-Fi companies in the near future, however, one obvious question is how will this work in the dark? I know the lights have to be on in order for data to move, but could there be a light with an extremely dim bulb but still able to provide reasonable transfer rate? Or is Infared a possibility? Like for example having an Infared light next to the LED, and the Infared takes over when the light turns off.
ANY feedback is appreciated!

Watch the video and they will talk about that.

Thank you @luzcypher :-) . Do you have a link of the video where i can watch it :-)

the video is in this post.

lol, sorry i did not notice it.

well honestly this is based upon work from the university of edinburgh and in the lab they made 10GB velocities, but this is not yet really productive.
As you can imagine to be able to communicate with light you need to have a direct sight connection to the emmiter of the signal and you need to have also a receiver, currently they are having a solar cell there gaining back some of the energy of the signal as electricity as well.

Dont get me wrong the idea is really exciting but the video is nice and shiny marketing while the engineers still struggle with the how and whats of the project. This will take some time still.
But thanks for the info iam going to watch the progress now more closely:D

yep Harald Haas is the guy that initially came up with this tech at the university of edinburgh. and obviously he is on the staff of purelifi as well :)
a good opportunity to be in the small circle of early adopters :D

Oh no need yet another modem! Sounds really cool though, really fast throughout the whole house.
