Our brain and its particular way of encoding time

I recently read an interesting scientific article on neuroscience and the physics of time, and I was really amazed at what our brains can code in our favour by creating biological clocks from neurons, turning the brain into a time machine.

The article in question evoked the following question: How is the brain able to process so much data in real time, efficiently and seemingly effortlessly? The answer, according to scientific arguments, may lie in the theory of time compression.

In essence, the theory of time compression establishes that the brain has the capacity to convert time into space, simplifying the situation and being able to act immediately before extremely complex or difficult to solve situations.

In this context, the researcher Dean Buonomano, author of the book "Your Brain is a Time Machine. The Neuroscience and Physics of Time", argues that the future does not exist because we have not yet taken the decisions that will lead us to it, because it is impossible to predict what people are going to do or how they are going to behave.

So, what our brain processes are elements in its database of events that happened in the past, hence, the information processed depends on all the experiences we have had in life, where we grew up, what we learned as children, the places we visited, because all those things are going to shape our neural circuits.

The above does not lead to a single point, which is that our nervous system is an organised set of specialised cells that allows the brain to process information about its reality and to generate behaviours in accordance with that information.

hello @lupafilotaxia,
the brain is one of the greatest wonders of nature, it is also a gift from god, on the other hand people often do not understand how it works and not knowing how it works we let it set the course we should follow, the brain only processes 10% of the information it receives through the senses and in many cases the brain is dedicated to assume how the future will be and then build it, Another curiosity with the brain is that it is easy to deceive, many people create tricks like magicians or swindlers to deceive our brain and if the person is not conscious he can end up being deceived by his brain, finally a person can learn how his brain works and then hack it in his favour.

No doubt that our brain is an impressive machine, even a time machine, I remember reading that in order to respond quickly to stressful situations or situations that happen at high speed, it basically anticipates the facts, based on our experience it assumes what could happen and gives rise to an almost immediate response.

Hello friend @emiliomoron

This you mention is the key point "our experience assumes what could happen", in effect the brain orders all the experience acquired throughout our life and executes actions according to the already established patterns.

Best regards, be well.

Greetings @ lupafilotaxia
It is amazing the capacity that the brain has to be able as you mention to convert time into space. There are certainly moments from my childhood that I have very present, as well as behaviors or performances that I remember them for mental enjoyment.
It is important to point out that people who are accustomed to get up at a specific time, often do it without the help of any clock but the mental one.
Thank you very much for sharing.

Hello @dgalan

The brain is a perfect bio-time machine, it recreates the experience of our previous years, to create orders that benefit us and help us to overcome the obstacles that we face every day, it prepares us to face the future. Thank you for visiting the blog.

Best regards, be well.

Hi @lupafilotaxia I have experience with my son whose treatment for essential tremor has been to learn to dance, counting the steps, that has forced his cerebellum to create new neural connections and improve his condition, the brain is an incredible machine.

Hi @aplausos

Blessings to your son, how nice that through dance he was able to somehow control his movements and educate his brain.

Best regards, be well.

@lupafilotaxia , this is a nice article. Let me also add that our daily activities are all control by the brain, the brain is a vital organ that it function can not be trivialise.

In fact it wetting causes madness.

Thanks for shearing.

Hello friend @grace-p

Good point "the brain is a vital organ whose function cannot be trivialised", we certainly cannot play with the health of our brain, as it is the organ that helps us coordinate all our daily actions.

Best regards, be well.

Greetings, buddy!
Our brains are incredible machines with outstanding features and powers.

We have no way of knowing how many processes are active when I type this comment.

I heard that brains are the most intelligent computers of all time, and I believe this to be true.

It was a nice read!

Hello friend @lennyblogs

That's right, and as I mentioned before our brain is a perfect bio-time machine, it recreates the experience of our previous years, to create orders that benefit us and help us to overcome the obstacles that we face every day, it prepares us to face the future. Therefore, we must take care of the health of our brain.

Best regards, be well.

Our brains are just amazing. I personally refer to them as the super DBMS
