My City! My Home! LAGOS

Lagos! My home, My city

This city is where I was born, and here I grew up. I feel like am obliged to do this write up. Many a times, people have been misinformed and my city has been misrepresented to the rest of the world.
This city is arguably one of the most popular cities in Africa, if not the world. The smallest state in Nigeria, yet the most populous, with over 20 million inhabitants (estimated).
Bounded by a vast spread of the Atlantic ocean, this beautiful city has beautiful and attractive beaches, as well as resorts for the inhabitants and visitors from around the world to chill.
Its economy would have been the fifth largest in the whole of Africa, if it were a country! With millions of foreign and local visitors, tourists, and investors migrating into Lagos, there's a diversity of culture, language, personality, and behavior and yet everyone carry on with their daily activities like they are all brothers.
To many people outside Nigeria and have not had the opportunity of visiting Lagos, they often get images showing poverty and wretchedness.!
Not that there are no poor people, but here comes the danger of a single story!
Lagos is naturally divided by its waters into mainland and island, and majorly connected through beautiful bridges.

Both exists as a complement of each other. The mainland has formed home to millions and it provides the cordiality that is enjoyed by families and friends, due to close knit that exist by virtue of the nature of small and medium scale business, vocational and menial jobs, public schools, and gangs formed from childhood.
The island on the other hand, has become more of business center than home to the masses, which makes traffic extremely heavy in the morning for those going towards the island and evening for those moving out to their homes. However, the island is such a beautiful place, and it has some breath taking scenery.

In Conclusion
My city, My home, My Lagos, I wouldn't trade it for anywhere else. If you've never had the opportunity to come visit, and you like to come and visit, you can send me an email on [email protected].
