One of my favourite things about Italy is that Italians have kept the tradition of drying their clothes outside. While visiting La Spezia we came across an entire street that was used for drying laundry. The strings were attached to the buildings on the opposite sides, so that freshly cleaned shirts and linens have become a part of the city view. And that smell, oh, there is no better smell than clean laundry. Ahh...
