Quartier lointain (2010) by Sam Garbarski (REVIEW)
This movie was directed by a manga. It is a fantasy/time-travel about middle-age man who is a comic writer. The story is about his visit to his hometown, when he entered his neighborhood he immediately remembered his whole childhood and he wondered what would have happen if he had his maturity and wise experience in that period of time.
Every one of us has gone through that thinking, what if this, what if that, so as the main character in the movie, he wants to improve some of his things from the past, but the main reason seems to be a one unresolved mystery, more like a trauma that has been following him his whole life, a painful past that he that he cannot forget and now he has a chance now to finally solve it. While he is doing that, he is not forgetting to enjoy his stay into his old neighborhood, he has a chance to re-enjoy his days in the most beautiful years of his life, his youth.
The movie is good overall, it is emotional and the story is quite interesting and it will bring you back to your youth, this may cause a little sadness but you will recall all of your memories from that time. All you have to do is feel the movie, because you can’t change the course of things, you cannot change the past, you just sit there and watch it powerlessly.
