Lone Star Under the Rising Sun - An Introduction

Greetings Steemians,

My name is Shea and this is my first post here on Steemit. I've actually known of this place for a few years, but I never bothered to post under my old and since forgotten account. Anyway, my buddy @kafkanarchy84 finally pushed me to be part of this community. Thanks man!

I enjoy hiking, photography, painting, fitness, listening to music, and the occasional video game or movie.

To give a bit of a backstory, I'm originally from the state of Texas in the United States. However, on a hot summer day about 10 years ago, I hopped on an airplane and moved to Japan. I knew not a single soul and very few words of the language. But my sense of adventure brought me here and I've enjoyed the life of an expat immensely.

I host a podcast called Lone Star Under the Rising Sun where I talk to other expats in Japan (or anywhere in the world), find out their motivation for becoming an expat, what they do and what they hope to achieve. I also talk about my own experiences finding my way in a foreign land and things I had to learn along the way. And sometimes I talk about some adventures I've been on as well.
