There is a wonderful eyeopening book titled "the warmth of other suns" about the great migration. Which I though of as blacks in the south moving north. It wasn't nearly that simple, since many of these people were still enslaved as tenant farmers. They literally had to sneak out of town, if it was discovered that they were leaving they could be lynched.
Bernie your should study the US Constitution. We never studied that in school either. The government doesn’t want you to know the laws that give us.

History needs to be told truthfully.it hasn’t been. But I find it odd that they want history to be truthful when it is convenient. Terrible things have happened in the past and we need to be aware of all of it.
My family got here 80 years ago. My ancestors are Scottish dissent sent to Barbadoes as indentured slaves for tax purposes.
am enraged re slavery! & I become SO emotional about how human beings were/are treated, simply due to their skin color. I am an Air Force Brat, & went to school with Kids of many different colors & backgrounds/cultures. The first time I saw a colored only sign, I thought the word was color-ed. I thought to myself, "What does that mean"? Is it referring to the color red? Or, whatever is in there is full of bright colors? It damn sure would have helped to be taught the realities of our history! Thank You Mr. Glover & Mr Sanders!

Bernie you're a good guy and I agree with a lot of what you say but Danny Glover is not someone you want align yourself with. It wasn't but 10-12 years ago he was on stage with Hugo Chávez championing his rule over the Venezuelan people.
I’m curious how something that happened 150+ yrs ago would have any impact on anyone today, but not curious enough to waste millions of dollars investigating nothing. The pandering for the black vote is strong in the Dems camps as they know they can’t win without a large turnout by black voters.
