Introducing.....Chaussette!

Hi! My name is Chaussette! I’m pretty excited to be here on Steemit. I hear this is a really great place to blog about my adventures, so I thought I'd give it a try!

But I’m a bit nervous. I’ve never done anything like this before. Plus it’s difficult for me to type because…well, I'm sure you understand, I don’t really have any fingers. Only toes. But my owner says she’ll help out when she can.    

I guess I should tell you a bit about myself.     

I really like to travel. I just got back from a week-long vacation in Costa Rica. It was not long enough! I love the ocean. That salty sea air blowing through my long, golden yarn, the warm sun, the soft sand in my toes…it’s enough to make a girl never want to come home.    

Not that my life is bad. My owner takes good care of me. But I just love being out in the open under the sun without a care in the world. We actually went whale watching while there. If you look closely, you can see me on the boat taking photos.   

I am pretty good at spotting whales. I have lots of talents I hope to share on this platform.     

I try to make it a point to travel to far off places at least a couple times a year. I feel like people who are well-traveled tend to have a better perspective on life and humanity altogether. And although I'm not really human, I think I'm pretty close. So this gives me an edge that other socks don't have. 

One of my favorite trips was when my owner and I climbed Machu Picchu last year. We knew it would be a tough trail, so we rented a llama for part of the hike and hired a guide to take us to the top. I wanted to give up toward the end because the altitude was so bad. I really thought I was going to die. But I made it!   

I was so sore after that trip though. The only thing I wanted to do was relax afterward.    

Usually when I want to relax after a long day, my favorite thing to do is take a hot bath, and then sit in the sauna. I feel like it loosens me up and relaxes all the tension away. Our hostel didn’t have one, but that was ok. I was sure to hop in one right when I got home.
