SOME THINGS ON STEEMIT HAVE TO CHANGE! A MUST READ POST
A change must occur
People follow others who have influence; hence those people of influence get more and more STEEM POWER.
People who truly create good content don't get any attention.
It could be a picture that one uploads, in which no effort has been put. And yet, it gets hundreds of up-votes.
It could be someone who writes something very deep and touching, and only one vote will he/she get. Of
himself/herself.
I deem everyone should ask themselves, am I up-voting posts which their writers have really put effort in?
The content's quality should be the proof of work for us to up-vote others.
Search for people who truly create great content, and love what they do.
Give them a stage to shine and develop.
Let not a hand to people with low-quality content only because they have many followers. We the people, not the whales have the true power, of a community.
I am not saying everyone who has a lot of followers don't create good content obviously!
I just think that for many posts, there is no justification for such amount of up-votes!! Those posts take place in the trending section, while guys that really put themselves into their posts get 0 up-votes and no exposure to their great content.
yes indeed you are absolutely true i had the same idea but it's all about good content i thing even there are some of those who have a huge influence even post a bad content but in return they get i more followers and get more powerful

I am with you! But it is not about the right attitude . it is all about Steemit's structure which makes it possible to act like that, means to run after the money .

I totally understand! The idea that after all it's about the money, really reduces the idle concept of "sharing knowledge for the sole purpose of sharing it". However, as you have marked, things are as they are over here. What we can do at least is to up-vote good content, so the right people get rewarded! Thanks for commenting and expressing your opinion. I really like to see more and more opinions.
yeah lots of rubbish and useless stuff reposted from random ppl and not the actual creator. it's a shame that some dynamics from Instagram and other picture related socials are also here, ppl with lots of followers and lots of upvotes, follow nobody and don't upvote anything so they just cash in without giving back to the comunity....

I hear you. But this is not only a blogging platform and it's not all about number of votes and follows ;)
"Dust" members have only 0.00 to 0.01 vote value. So, you'll get nothing from them even if they vote all your posts/comments. If you want to be noticed by whales interact with them, they upvote valuable comments. Vote witnesses if you haven't. Or, just make sure to post and use the right tags that earn the most. Some members here are using bidbots @upme @boomerang etc etc to earn more but I will never do the same. ;)
Most big earners with more than $1 vote value INVESTED money from their own pockets, you can invest too and vote your own content to earn fast regardless of quality. We are allowed to vote our own posts/comments here. But I do not vote my own comment, only my blog posts and entries for @photocontests. LOL! That's how it works here. Everyone are welcome not only writers. It is NOT the site that compensates us directly but the money is from individual investors, i.e. if I invested/bought 500,000,000 Steem Power I can decide who I want to vote and how many % will I give to each post/comment I am voting for ;)

There are other sites/apps connected to Steemit not only steemit.com. Others are using dTube exclusively for videos, others use dmania which is exclusive for memes, others use steepshot app exclusively for photography and they all appear here at steemit.com therefore, owners of dTube can decide to only vote members posting from dtube not from steemit.com or dmania and steepshot owners can also decide to vote only members posting from their site/app :)

I understand. To be honest, I already knew this site August 2016 but I just ignored this because...oh I better not mention/list what I didn't like. Haha! But my old blogger friends became active here so I joined so I could interact with them just for fun. LOL! Now I am only enjoying @juliank's @photocontests and I love it when whales vote some of my posts. ;)
