The most romantic place for lovers
Valentine's Day, February 14, 2006, in the City garden unusual monument symbolizing eternity: the sculpture "Tree of love" Odessa received a gift on its 210th anniversary. At the opening ceremony, a capsule with a message to the children born this year was laid in the Foundation of the monument. Mikhail Reva became the author of the new composition.
Three-meter bronze tree weighing 1 ton attracts attention with its crown, made in the shape of a large heart. It instead leaves hang little hearts. Their number – 210, by the number of years of Odessa. The crown symbolizes the present. Several hearts lie at the foot of the tree, as if emphasizing that the basis, the Foundation of the past is love. The trunk of the tree-as a symbol of the link between the past and the present. On his trunk into 65 languages of the world is written the word "love."
Directed upwards, the "Tree of love" stretches into the future. It all was woven together in the bonds of generations, of times, and this endless cycle of life, is simply unthinkable without the driving force – love. Love that lives in the hearts of ordinary people, each of us.
The author of the monument wanted to Supplement his composition with two figures of children standing under a tree and holding a big heart, but later changed his mind, deciding that it would be better if these characters will be the people themselves.
People, with warm hearts, with great pleasure stay in the city garden under the "Tree of love". Some come here to just take a picture, but couples – holding hands, to touch its trunk. According to existing belief, it promotes love and strengthening of feelings.
The word "love" sounds equally gentle in all languages. "I love you," lovers say to each other. It always has been, is and let it be forever…
