Hooray! It appears that the steady increase in daily deaths in Italy has had its first day of relief. They are reporting only 651 deaths today compared to yesterday's high of 793. They also had their first drop in new cases. Today only 5,560 new cases have been reported by Italy compared to yesterday's 7,700. It might be that they are late in reporting their final numbers, but I see this as a good sign.

In America, we lost another 114 souls to it today, up from 84 yesterday. 419 Americans have died from it, but only 178 have recovered from it. That means that out of 33,546 known cases in America we have less than 600 closed cases on which to base our fatality rate. To suggest that all of those cases, including the 9,339 who were added today will live in order to tout a meaningless death rate is, well, living in denial. Also significantly, a huge jump in the number of critical or serious reported cases in America to 795. The counter seemed stuck on 64 for the last three days, even as the number of deaths continue to almost double every two days.

I'd really appreciate your help in finding info on our testing; how many people have been tested, how many are we now testing each day, and what are the ages of the people (or any other info about them) testing positive and negative? I'd also like to find solid info on who is dying. Are they all elderly comorbid people like we keep hearing? How many under forty are not only testing positive but are getting really sick? Please point me to your sourced link, please!
