Witness Collaboration With Jerry Banfield + Battening Down The Hatches For Irma As 185 MPH Record Hurricane "Bears" Down
I would like to belatedly announce a collaboration with @JerryBanfield, who has asked me to conduct all the research and drafting for his series: "Meet Steem's Top Witnesses"! We have already released post #1, and post #2 is past the drafting and into the editing phase.
Some of you may have seen Jerry's recent post I resteemed. Jerry was responsible for the video and formatting, while I conducted the research and composed the script. You can view it here.
We have been very gratified at the initial response in the comments. Our series has so far pleased both minnows and long-time whales alike.
It is very important that everyone makes an educated vote for witnesses. We hope this series will make that easier for everyone, and we hope to do at least the top 50-60 witnesses!
For those who prefer to reside in the shallower pool that is my blog, I will be reposting remastered versions of each witness report. I will be taking questions on each witness, and am happy to research any additional facts on them that my audience becomes curious about.
I have approximately 35 more witnesses to research (25 done so far), and for each I compose a roughly AP-length essay (4-6 paragraphs, 3-6 citations). This may delay the speed at which I post and reply, but rest assured, if you've commented you are on my to-do list.
I also wanted to leave everyone a quick note that my post frequency will be reduced for a brief period, as will my ability to comment, reply, and vote. I will be literally pruning the yard and covering windows, rather than devoting my efforts to Steemit as I might prefer.
I have the misfortune of being directly in the path of the oncoming Irma. Everyone here is losing it and I would not be surprised to lose utilities, or worse, for some time. If my area is hit directly, we may be in much worse shape as apparently I am living in one of the most under-prepared flood areas in Florida.
I'll be spending the next few days draining pools and frog ponds in the hope that I won't need flippers to get to the car next week.

Thank you! Luckily, I keep all the usual prep materials around all year. It's never a bad idea to stock up on non-perishables.

As much as I enjoy your regular commentary (which nearly always makes me laugh.....or think - both good things) the witness stuff is important work and I understand why you've teamed up with Jerry. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Honestly, I teamed up with Jerry because he asked me to, and I had met him recently at a meetup. I knew he was a hard worker and he is also a nice guy. You'd be surprised how much more "zen" he is in real life versus in his videos, where he is always thoroughly enthusiastic.
I'd probably appreciate meeting the guy. I just can't sit through his videos. I find the manufactured enthusiasm is a bit too much like watching an infomercial, which I have become conditioned to switching off.
It seems to be working for him though so good luck to him. I think the content is good, maybe I'll just try and read the transcripts ;)
I know what you mean. They are mostly motivational type videos for people that have problems I don't.
His crypto videos are pretty good, especially for the "average, non-crypto" folk.

I hope all is going well with your preparations, I remember how quickly St. Petersburg flooded the last time we had storms come through. Give me a shout if you need some help or a place to ride it out or Park any vehicles. I'm in a no flood zone in Seminole.
