Civic Coin (CVC) - Secure Identity Verification, Decentralized On The Blockchain
Civic "coin" is a bit of an odd-duck, though it sports Steemit's own Sneak as technical advisor.

While most cryptocurrencies, at least ostensibly (I'm looking at you, XVG,) try to increase the privacy and identity obfuscation of its users, Civic aims to do exactly the opposite. With a CEO who successfully launched the "Gyft" service online, prospects may be good.
Civic is an identity verification platform using blockchain technology. Essentially, what Civic looks to secure is your identity. Think of it as a digital fingerprint, secured by you.

Imagine having a private key attached to your identity, giving you one "global" wallet to handle various identity verification features. There are a wide variety of potential applications related to the reduction of fraud across many industries - credit, in particular. Civic coin aims to help reduce costs for services that currently require things like "birth certificates" or "government photo ID."
As for pricing, like many other cryptocurrencies Civic has retreated substantially from an all-time high near $1.35 to about $0.3. Note on the following chart the price is meandering through an area of previous large support/resistance. Any future downside is limited compared to the upside - you can't lose more than 35 cents, but a 400% gain is entirely plausible.

On the security front, Civic is (currently) an ERC20 token, which means you are able to secure it via hardware wallet if you use MyEtherWallet. Non-hardware alternatives include Metamask. This makes it a measure safer to hold than coins without their own hardware wallet solutions. (/endsecuritybrokenrecord)
Civic is a speculative play on my part. I don't really recommend it, nor am I a detractor. It's a gamble. The crypto space is generally marginally hostile towards identity verification, so I see support for a project like this as a spec play on potential mainstream adoption.
What do I mean by that, exactly? Well, the mainstream doesn't seem to place too much value on anonymity. I think we're all aware of the parade of mundane daily updates that comprises most social media today. In short, most online users aren't involved in cryptocurrency and aren't particularly concerned with anonymity (their use of Facebook would seem proof positive of this last fact.)
If one-stop identity verification catches on, these are the type of users likely to embrace it - mainstream, non crypto users. Facebook has already proven its users are amenable to a single-universal login system, as Facebook logins are already used at a large variety of online locations and product websites. (In fact, one is required for Tinder, among other services.)

I can see this as a very useful thing in the future... I can also see this as the tool of future crypto tyrants. It is up to us to ensure that we do not repeat the mistakes of our past with blockchain tech. The same tyrannies can emerge again, but this time the tech will be so good that their will be no escape from your "Identity" (AKA your debt).
Nice information for us. Good to see you.
Upvoted but not big.
This is one project where one has to consider why is there a cryptocurrency needed other than for the devs to cash in.
Beyond that what is the purpose of the token?
The project's intent is to have the coin stake later, but since the returns are supposed to be 0% (?), I'm not sure what the incentive to do so will be.
Blockchain technology has proved to be a best one.
So you say its gamble, but there is something good about gambling. If there are 90% chances of loss in it, the same percentage chances are of being the winner.
"If there are 90% chances of loss in it, the same percentage chances are of being the winner."
I'm afraid this math does not check out.
Gambling is based on probability. There are equal chances to lose and equal chances to win. Hope it checks out now 😆
"There are equal chances to lose and equal chances to win."
This is provably false in almost every instance.
HAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAH
LMAO

You mean "Yes, I'm sorry"?
This is like Inception.
I was interested in it till I got to this part "though it sports Steemit's own Sneak as technical advisor." after that I kinda lost interest...
It is sad how a few people can ruin a reputation.. weather it be a person or platform,he is a good example! IMHO
I forced my self to continue w/ post..
