Catch a falling Star - Hands 36 - Painting
This is a "self-portrait" painting. Well, of my hands at least. My photo assistant is currently out of town, so I had to figure out how to photograph my own hands in the dark by myself. About a third of the photos were junk, but I ended up with more than enough to work from.
I tethered the camera to the computer via USB and used software to fire the camera with a timer. The software displayed the photo on screen, which allowed me to see if my hands were in frame. All in all, the process was a bit slower than if I had an extra pair of hands, but I got the job done.
So, yes I painted from a photo reference, but how else am I going to paint my own hands in the dark.
