How to make a high-voltage capacitor
The main part of the capacitor is a dielectric. It is he who accumulates electricity, and it is damaged as a result of breakdown by increased voltage. The capacitor is designed for impulse work, for the implementation of experiments.
I decided to use a compounded dielectric - from several layers of condenser paper and polyethylene terephthalate film.
The diagram shows the arrangement of the capacitor.
The dielectric consists of 5 layers. 2 layers of 5μ of condenser paper plus a 34μr film and again 2 layers of 5μg of condenser paper. In total, we have 5 layers of 54 microns thick.
The expected impregnation is castor oil. All calculations on the scheme. If something is not clear ask, I will be pleased to answer your questions.
