Oh Nasi Lemak!
Nasi lemak is one of my favourite food that I eat once a week. In English language, it is known as coconut rice. It has over a century of history in Malay traditional food. The rice is usually cooked using coconut milk and pandan leaf as the ingredient. The original food usually served together with a spicy sauce, hard-boiled egg and anchovies. It will then cover with a banana leaf. In Malaysia, it can be easy to find at Mamak stall, roadside hawker or in a restaurant.
The price per pack has now been RM1.80 (in Ringgit Malaysia) at the place that I buy from. Normally I will buy three packs of nasi lemak as my lunch during Saturday in order to fulfil my quota of my stomach from breakfast to lunch and wait until dinner for another meal. It is a spicy food so if you eat it, remember to drink a glass milk not water. Because milk can relief the heat in our stomach.
