Much love fellow steemians A big shoutout to brother @ali2star who, in a sudden bout of inspiration, is now going full steem ahead!

I was just asked how to handle steem passwords safely, here's my process for not losing my keys:

When you first get your password copy it immediately, paste that and save that somewhere, before you run account creation, if any new keys or passwords appear in the process make sure you get them. (If you refresh a page because of an error, you'll get a new generated password for instance, make sure you don't have a stale one)

Once you have your new password safely backed up, you should be encrypting that backup. I figure compessing it with a password is probably fine for casual use, make sure you back that up well, and in different places, use a good password on it.

You can then apply the new password that you've backed up and encrypted, if anything fails at this step remember what I've just said about checking that passwords aren't accidentally replaced, going back and repeating previous steps can sometimes produce a new password that you will have to store/encrypt/back up.

So now that your master password is applied, its a good idea to collect all your keys.

This is done in the permissions section of your wallet...

Notice on the right is green buttons, first proceed through the log in one, then ensure that all 3 are displaying the private key, and copy the whole lot and store it alongside your password somewhere safe.

If you follow this procedure you'll be generally a little more safe against account loss due to loss of password, your steem wallet has money, and a lot of people have lost what they've earned, be safe with your earnings and your passwords, they are your identity, and recovery from lost keys is nearly impossible.
