In a little town outside of Brittany France.

There are castles, hiking trails, and some lovely boutiques. All great adventures I will soon share, but first, let us share a little more about the food!

I searched high and low for some crepes.

I found them, didn't get to eat them, but let me tell about what I did consume!

I did have some interesting pizza, flavorless pasta, and out of this world amazing sandwiches. A vegan diet isn't easy to uphold while in France. Given my limited French, I kept it pretty simple and consumed whatever they brought out. In France my favorite is by far the fairy town inspired dessert.

Our first night in France almost landed us eating pizza at Dominos.

Horrified at the idea, we drove some more. We found ourselves walking around and stumbled upon this restaurant where thankfully they spoke a few words in English.

They gave me olive oil in a babies bottle that saved another wise tasteless pizza. While exploring the next day, we settled in a cute little French pizzeria that reminded us that our hunger and the French eating times did not always align. They may be open, but the kitchen isn't cooking anything until set lunch or dinner time.

Must they eat at such specific times?

I thought it was odd and awesome that most stores closed at noon for a couple of hours for lunch.

Lunch hours were posted outside the retail stores, but not at any restaurant. Apparently, that is common knowledge. I didn't care for it when I wanted to shop, or when I missed the lunch hour, but when dinner came around it really bothered me that we couldn't eat whenever

We will have to learn eating times better next time we visit.

We sat for dinner and were told dinner was in two hours so I had some lovely coffee and they some juice. When we returned, waited to be seated, ignored until we finally were able to place our order the kitchen had closed for most of what we wanted to try. Hunger and disappointed I ordered some tasteless pasta and my friends ordered pizza.

They really wanted to try the escargot, but the kitchen closed. The pizza was amazing, but they had their heart set on snails. At another cafe, on another day, in another nearby town, I had a veggie sandwich with chilled/iced vanilla coffee. It was my favorite meal!

We visited a cookie/baked good store

They had a ton of cookies, none to try, only to buy. Not familiar with any of the names I didn't care to buy any. My traveling friends purchased an almond soft like substance type of candy. It wasn't the best nor the worst. There were a few strange sitings while in France, but this odd nameless candy took the cake.
