Is it too late to celebrate Valentine's Day?

Did you surprise my second favorite holiday?

The flowers, the over priced chocolates, and insane overpriced and large stuffed teddy bears are ready available in the front of most grocery stores. Before University, my favorite part of the day was during lunch. All the love birds would exchange gifts. These girls would be beefing with joy. The guys grateful they didn't drop the ball and it was a sappy romance movie for all to see.

Couples in college were less flashy. Actually most couples, especially married folk aren't big on celebrating Valentine's Day. Until we reach those relationship goals or if you enjoy watching forgetful men in desperate pain visit your local grocery store. The day of Valentine's Day the stores are packed, the look of pain is hilarious, and every aisle is packed.

Have you seen this before, been in this guy or gal before?

My day was full of unexpected surprises.

First my job gave out roses and cookies.

H.R isn't often known for being so silly. Similar to other companies, they decorated for Halloween and Christmas. Surprised us with random company feast.

All that to say, it shouldn't have been a huge surprise that they would have treats for us on Valentine's Day.

Thinking that would be the highlight of my day. A friend came to my job with two bouquets of flowers, a massive balloon, and a box of chocolate. There were many gifts delivered that day.

Mine triumphed them all.

Celebrating this holiday as a single gal has had many highs and similar stories to the one above. Is this why married couples don't care for the holiday?

They celebrated it all while single and or while dating.

Valentine's Day must do Checklist!

Naturally a successful overhyped holiday has a checklist. Feel free to add to it in the comments.

  1. Flowers, doesn't have to be store bought

  2. Sweets that are eatable

  3. Balloons because everyone loves them

  4. A surprise visit

  5. Additional food

  6. Don't be that person making last minute plans or buy last minute gifts.

Love always,

We don't really do Valentine's Day. My partner likes buying me chocolate though, so this year he bought two blocks of chocolate and said "happy commercial card giving day" XD

He's actually a hell of a lot more romantic than I am XD

Been a while Kubs. I certainly don't revel in the day but I did get a cake for good measure...lol

Have a great weekend :)

Celebrating it the day after is just better. Less lines, discounted items!
