Brazil plays today!

As expected, several of the Brazilians on the platform are writing about the amazing World Cup. Hopefully, you are like me and could care less about sports. Win or lose, it's just a game and a couple of very dramatic players running after or towards a ball. Which is true, but why do Americans make such a big deal out of the Super Bowl? Took me a while to remember what it was called.

It's all about the hype

I have noticed that even those that aren't into sports will watch a game, just because it's the Super Bowl. Well, that is how I feel about the World Cup. I remember as a child in almost every World Cup we watched in Brazil. It was always a big deal. The entire country shut down to watch the games. No matter how rotten our team was playing we had no doubt they would win. Win they did until they didn't and lost terribly. Of course, only after they officially lost did most people start bashing they play.

Such loyalty!

South Florida is a melting pot of every Latin country you can imagine. We also know everyone that claims to be Brazilian. We are almost literally related to one another.

If an American says they are dating a Brazilian, you can almost bet on what the next question out of any Brazilian will be something of the following.

Who are you dating, I probably know them or know someone that knows them? Now that I write it out like that it's kinda creepy.

Brazilian and the Latin people are almost always known for their vibrate personalities.

We are loud, we are happy, and we eat a TON of rice! During the game, today, join the party, wear a bright yellow shirt, yell at the screen, and celebrate as we win our sixth world cup.

Today's game is against Serbia. They beat Costa Rica, lost to Switzerland, which we tied too.

Serbia would have to score over seven goals to advance and we just need to score twice to be comfortable in the next round. Let's pretend we care about sports just for the next couple of weeks. Anyone you chat with that has been following the games will tell you that this world cup has been an odd one. Top playing teams have lost to small teams. Brazil thankfully hasn't fallen to this fact. If they do, I know which team I am picking next. However, until that final whistle is blown
