Candlelight w/ Christina!

Hey, Steemit! I’m here at @caffetto. I’m trying to finish some work and make one last co-op run to get provisions before the impending arctic vortex hitting the Midwest tonight. For the next two days, it looks like my Steemit posts will be made from home. Almost 10” of snow and temperatures reaching a low of -26°. Most of you have no idea what that kind of cold feels like. It’s also why an abundance of babies in Minnesota are born in the fall.

I’m really happy I was able to get the last Trial by Comics announcement pushed out this weekend. Well overdue, I know. It’s important to me to have new art for each theme, and with work and life, it was difficult to find time to draw. “Magic: The Gathering II” is the new theme if any Steemit artists would like to participate. This Thursday, @ghostfish and I will be meeting up to work on @coppercoins and a handful comic projects.

I do have some new photography to share tonight. The last couple of nights, I’ve been balancing the many things in my life that need attention. Editing always takes priority because it’s what pays the bills, and I was overdue to edit another set of images of east coast photographer/model Christina Meerloo. We shot together at Bookstore Speakeasy in Bethlehem, PA for images to make the pages of @wcpublishing’s Dark Pinup.

Christina had followed my photography for years, apparently. I met her the previous summer when she offered to style for a shoot I had in New York City. We stayed in touch, and in that time, I fell in love with her photography and passion as an artist. We booked this shoot together, at one of the most impressive locations I’ve ever seen. Oil lamps and candles! The lighting was perfect and Christina looked amazing.

I still have one set to finish from this shoot, so there will be more to come of Christina. In the meantime, follow her photography page on Instagram, @meerloophotography. I’ll be sketching in bed the rest of this cost January evening. TThanks for reading. For more photography, art, illustration and the stories behind the work, follow me here @kommienezuspadt.

Amazing, my friend! I first thought it was some kind of steampunk movie!
The lighting, the poses, the clothes, everything is very poetic, and rebel at the same time. Lovable.
