Procrastinating and laziness among many students have caused several of them their rightful grades and marks. It's a commonplace for students to underestimate the worth of 24 hours in one day but the very good students sees missing a single day without studying as tantamount to serious setback.

In our strife to become academic geniuses, every hour and minute counts, whether for studies or any other productive activity.

A boy who gets very good grades, one night after a marathon studying session, he slept from 1:00am to 4:30am. When he woke up he burst out crying because he had wasted almost four hours. Maybe he was extreme but generally good students who make every second count - and they do not procrastinate. The average student can always find an excuse by claiming they are tired and try and get some more rest or I will push tonight's work to tomorrow morning and finish it and so on, but you can find them talking, arguing, chatting idly and generally wasting time.

Let's do this calculation, if there are three months in a term then there are approximately ninety days per term. If the average personal study hours are three hours per day on school days and five hours per day on weekends, then a student has an average of 300 hours of studies per term or semester. Each hour wasted by the poor student reduces this number and increases the chances of cramming for exams. A good student makes sure all the three hours per school day are used effectively and does so for the whole period of the semester whereas the poor student uses most of the time for chatting, sleeping, attending other programs or not doing anything at all because of laziness.

Obviously the good student will have an edge over the poor one since there will not be any additional hours anywhere to supplement what has already been lost.
