Watch Out for Nasty Scam on Bitshares DEX!
If you are aware Bitshares also has smart contracts and many more functions than just generating easy tokens.Its a decentralized exchange system which you can check or use ie by OpenLedger but also native DEX and many other options.
Now some attackers found a way to steal your money by making you update data.
We can see user baker-777 that lost money on this.
DO NOT ACCEPT OR LOAD THOSE PROPOSALS BY ANY MEANS.
They will surely switch accounts later but so far we can see they got some cash out.

I am actually the user baker-777. What I'm disappointed in is that there was no alert of a possible scam within the platform itself. I always thought bitshares is totally secure. Someone mentioned that a post had been made somewhere but the truth is all I ever did was log into the wallet and did not explore the site for updates, no different to how I use a bank account. Surely the team could have some alert box come up for the users that could easily get tricked like I did. I was asked about a proposal and thought, oh someone is doing something for bitshares and I'll vote, It never occured to me a scam could operate within the platform itself and I was caught out. No more bitshares for me now.
I'm sorry to hear that... Well, it really shows that smart contracts both can be used for good and bad. Bitshares could've been more aggressive on warning about it to the average users.
It's clear bitshares is not ready for the average investor. I'm no guru but I'm certainly not a total newbie either. Have done plenty of mining, nemourous wallets, trezor, and this scam caught me out totally unaware. Tbh I dont get the feeling the bitshares team really care about this situation and Bitshares has always been sold as super tight security. Clearly this is not the case....for the 'average user'
Bitshares totally isn't ready. I created a bitshares account but i'm overwhelmed by the lack of any decent UI and ended up not using it at all. I have used various cryptos and even newer cryptos have much better UIs to interact with the chain. That's already dealbreaker and now this scam is a thing.
TBH BTS is the only coin ive ever lost but not due to scam just i somehow forgot that they store keys in cache even if file is gone... logn story short.. over 0.2 BTC worth of BTS is gone forever

Thank-You for confirming this allegations, This is really disappointing as a bitshares user and if this is how it occurred anyone can be a victim.
