コインチェックNEM盗難事件で初の逮捕者
2018年1月に起こったコインチェックのNEM盗難事件で初の逮捕者がでました。逮捕されたのは北海道の医師と、大阪府の会社役員の男2人で組織犯罪処罰法違反（犯罪収益収受）の容疑になるそうです。
コインチェックから盗難されたNEMであることを知りながら別の暗号資産の交換に応じた疑いだそうです。盗難犯がダークウェブを当時の価格の15%引きで販売しそれを購入し、容疑者二人はそれを購入し、国内外の取引所でビットコイン等の他の暗号資産に交換し、差益を受けてたそうです。ダークウェブ上で盗難犯とやり取りしているのでそちらまでたどり着くのは難しそうですが、何かの糸口になるといいですね。
しかし、今回の犯人のマネロンを手伝った共犯者が逮捕される、という前例ができたのは大きいと思います。類似の手口の抑止になるし、注意喚起もしやすくなりますよね。
不正に得た利益は数億円とみられますが、盗難NEM購入のために何十億と用意できる人が数億の利益のために逮捕され社会的地位を失うのは割にあわないと思います。
警視庁は、盗難NEMの交換に応じた他の人物、Coincheckに不正アクセスを行うなどNEM盗難に関わった人物の捜査を継続中です。
