What is bandwidth in blockchain? Explain in your own words

Bandwidth is actually the rate at which data is transferred within different nodes of a blockchain and the nodes can thus communicate with each other. There are different nodes present at a blockchain and whenever a content transaction have to be occured then all nodes interfere with each other by communication for validating the transactions and ensure that transaction is legitimate and here bandwidth play a lot of role.

More bandwidth have a direct relationship with the transactions speed. It means if there will be more bandwidth of a blockchain then there will be a speed in the processing of any transaction at that blockchain

To ensures speedly transactions you should ensure a good bandwidth at a blockchain that you are using otherwise transaction will take a lot of time to be occurred. Bytes per second is the unit in which we measure bandwidth. To have a good bandwidth there should be more efficiency of nodes so that transaction may proceed speedly and no longer time require in a transaction.

Steem Blockchain uses Resource Credits, explain how it works

IMG_20230606_185135.jpg

Resource credits is important and a unique feature by steemit Blockchain given to its users. Resource credits are used to handle the allocation of resources given to users at steemit Blockchain.

Steem blockchain use resource credits in the following ways:

RC's used by ensuring the efficiency of blockchain

Resource credits handles allocation of resources like bandwidth and storage. The more there will be availability of resource credits the more there will be the efficiency of blockchain.

RC's use in every transaction

Whenever a person wants to post, comment aur vote on any other post then for making these transactions he always consume some resources that are limited so for every transaction there is a consuming of resource credit so there is a big role of resource credit for blockchain and the more complex transaction you would do the more resources would be consumed.

When you have enough resource credits then you can actively participate in any activity at blockchain and if you have a run out of your resource credits then you can also earn them by recieving delegation from another account or you can also hold more steems in your own account because the more STEEM power you hold the more resource credits you have

There is also a good way to buy the resource credit if you want to do this then you can easily do and the price of resource credit depends upon the demands means there will be high price of the resource credits if there will be high demand of resource credits.

What is the difference between bandwidth and resource credit on the Steem blockchain?

IMG_20230606_185200.jpg

Here is a comparison table of the differences between bandwidth and resource credits on the Steem blockchain:

Different featuresBandwidthResource Credits
DefinitionBandwidth is actually the rate at which data is transferred within different nodes of a blockchain and the nodes can thus communicate with each otherResource credits is important and a unique feature by steemit Blockchain given to its users. Resource credits are used to handle the allocation of resources given to users at steemit Blockchain.
UsesBandwidth have a use in the measurement of amount of data which are user wants to share at a blockchain through its transactionResource Credit have a use in measuring of the resources that are user is using for making any transaction
Calculation differenceBandwidth would be calculated at the basis of steem power a user holds and there will be direct relation of bandwidth with steem powerResource Credits are calculated in a same way as bandwid but the difference is that it can also earn them by recieving delegation from another account or you can also hold more steems in your own account because the more STEEM power you hold the more resource credits you have
ActionsBandwidth act by transmitting data of a user like any post or comment to a blockchainResource Credits acts by performing actions like posting and upvoting or downvoting at blockchain
LimitationsBandwidth limit is with the steem power limit of a user means the less steem power means the less bandwidth and vice versaResource Credits limit is with the limit of delegation that a user receives from a particular account
TradingBandwidth cannot be traded (buy or sell) in marketResource credit may be buy.The price of resource credit depends upon the demands means there will be high price of the resource credits if there will be high demand of resource credits.

Steemit was launched in 2016 and at that time there was only bandwidth due to which people also find it difficult to make the transactions so after 2 years of launching this blockchain, in 2018 resource credits introduced to people and it is more advanced form of bandwidth which can also be reload just like our voting power that's why resource credits are more beneficial for making transactions

What is your available resource credit? Show the step by step and screenshots are required

We have discussed resource credits in detail so now it's a time to show the procedure to check the resource credits so I am right at your service by showing you a step by step procedure to check the available resource credits.

There can be two methods by which you can check your resource credit and these are below

Method 1Method 2
To check from https://steemdb.io/To check from @steemworld.com

@steemworld.com is one of my preferable site for checking the resource credits so I would like to share a brief procedure by using this site!

Step 1

First of all I open Chrome and then I search at steemworld along my username as below you can see in the screenshot which is watermarked by my username.

IMG_20230606_163231.jpg
Step 2

When I search my account through steemworld then it takes some seconds to reach me at the home page and below you can see in the screenshot watermarked by my username that my account at steemworld is loading....

IMG_20230606_163811.jpg
Step 3

Finally now I have opened the homepage at which I have a lot of information and as I scroll down then I see an option of RC which stands for resource credits so you can see in the image which I shown you by encircling and making a triangular shape at the resource credit so that everyone may easily understand that where are resource credits.

IMG_20230606_164220.jpg

My current resource credits are 1742 , 268 and 193 , 937 .... So now you guys also can see your resource credits and can check them easily and there is no lengthy procedure require for checking your resource credits

I would like to specially mention here @wilmer1988 , @kouba01 , @pelon53 , @Josevas217 to participate in this engagement challenge

Thank you for your explanation of the role of resource credits in blockchain transactions. It is true that any transaction or activity carried out on the blockchain can consume limited resources, and resource credits play an Important role In facilitating such transactions.

The more complex the transaction is, the more resources are required. Therefore, having sufficient resource credits is the key to being able To actively participate in activities on the blockchain. If someone runs out of resource credits, there are several options one can take, such as accepting a delegate from another account or keeping more coins In their own account. The more STEEM power held, the more resource credits one can have.

Apart from that, you also mentioned that there is a good way To buy resource credits if needed. The credit price of a resource can depend on demand, meaning that if there is a high demand for a resource, Then the credit price of the resource tends To be high too.

Your understanding of the role of resource credits In the blockchain is clear. This is an important concept To understand for those who participate In blockchain transactions and activities. Thanks for the informative explanation!

Good luck.

Thank you so much friend for a detailed comment on my article and its good that you gain good understanding about bandwidth and resource credit from my contact and definitely it increases much into your knowledge that you already have about these terms.

I need motivation from all of you for creating further content.

Thank you so much for this nice comment

@khursheedanwar your post exploring the comparison between resource credits & Bandwidth in the context of Crypto Academy contest Is insightful! It's essential for Steemit users to grasp the differences between these Two factors to effectively navigate the platform . Resource credits play a crucial role in resource Allocation and determine the amount of activity A user Can perform while bandwidth affects the speed & responsiveness of interactions. Your analysis provides valuable Information on How to manage and optimize these resources For a smoother Steemit experience. Thank you for sharing your knowledge & contributing to The understanding of this topic. Great job! 👏🌟

First of all I want to say thanks to you that you give your precious time and read my blog and also like my content and you gain major differences between bandwidth and resource credit but in my point of view resource credits are more good and beneficial rather than bandwidth.

I also visit your entry and that was wonderful and I want to say thanks again for visiting my blog

While your explanation includes some elements of networking and data transfer, it does not accurately represent the concept of bandwidth in the context of blockchain technology.

Thanks for your comment and I would like to get more information about the bandwidth from several sources as well as from your blog...

Welcome dear 🤗

Hola Kurshe 😊

My dear friend you have made a really very good post and you have made a detailed post and try to cover each and every question and you have actually summarise in a good way I must say good post indeed and you have tried to give us a proper differences between the bandwid and the resource credit and I think bandwid is a very good way of transmission of data.

Most of the people have entire to summarise that that resources credit are more beneficial than the bandwid but I must say that both are the way of interconnection to each other for the transmission and I have also try to give my thoughts on this valuable topic and I have tried to summarise as well and do check my post as well and leave your valuable comment on my post.
