मूल प्रकृति, महत्, अहंकार और तन्मात्र इन
आठ प्रकृतियों से दस इंद्रियां, मन और पंचभूत इन
सोलह विकारों से बना हुआ ब्रह्मांड कोष भीतर से

धनुर्वेदगांधर्व वेद और स्थापत्य वेद और इसी प्रकार
होता, अध्वंयुउगाता और ब्रह्मा के कर्म उभुत हुए।
इतिहासपुराण नाम का पांचवां वेद भी उन्हीं से प्रकट
हुए। यह सब होने पर भी संसार का बहुत अदिक
विस्तार नहीं हुआ। उस समय उनके शरीर के दो भाग
हो गए। एक भाग से स्वयं मनु हुए और दूसरे भाग से
शतरू पा। इन दोनों के संयोग से पांच संतानें हुई जिनमें
प्रियव्रत और उत्तानपाद दो पुत्र थे तथा आकृति,
देवहूति और प्रसूति नामक तीन कन्याएं थी। मनु ने
आकृति का विवाह रुचि सेदेहूति का कम से और
प्रसूति का दक्ष से किया। इनकी संतति से संसार का
विस्तार हुआ।
