Preparing Your Own Processed Spices – 1

Processed Ginger

There are many spices in my garden and we sometimes harvest a lot of them in large quantity and process them so that we can use them for a long time and not have to be harvesting them all the time or to have them even when they are out of season. This is going to be first post on this, I’ll do another when they are all dried up and I have grinded them to powdery form.

The car roof is used to sun-dry the spices because that is perhaps the only place lizards don’t get to in my compound. You wouldn’t want to grind rodent poo with your spices would you? Lol. We have a lot of spices and some of the ones we drying to process to powder form are shown below:

Spices are very medicinal and good for the health they help prevent a lot of ailment and have been known to cure a lot of sicknesses. We like processing our own because we know the source and we do not put chemicals or additives into them. Because of gains people want to make they are now loading processed spices with all manner of chemicals that is even making it unhealthy and they put them out for sale in the open market.
