Nothing.

So I wrote this little story.

It was like a dream.
The store's PA system drones another epic elevator hit of the past only to fade behind the task at hand, hearing but not listening, loading the counter my grocery finds of the morning.

The cashier in her familiar black sweater over the store logoed tee shirt, like every Saturday morning is as courteous as always, "Would you like to cash in your points?"
And as I would always say, "No thanks, saving them for Christmas."
"That's $21.35 your card please..."
The routine the same.

I pack my bags with my shopping bargains then I turn and face that same green cabinet every Saturday morning. My thoughts go back to my Dad's comment as he once observed a man rifle a pay phone's coin return for some usable change. "He must be desperate for cash or he has a certain respect for money."

1 Gosh, they still make these?

As there is an apparent yet unfounded stigma of a person collecting trivial loose change. I shrugged off that self-imposed stigma and studied the machine's coin return as I approach it with guarded expectation as I had no results for months. There was something hidden in the dark confines of the coin return. "Ah, some coins, finally." I thought to myself.

That moment l became aware that store's music had changed to something vaguely to the 1812 overture. I felt the satisfactory rush of achievement as I clutched the coins in my fist then slowly turned my fist up and opened my fingers. There was a glint of a golden coin beneath the two quarters, four dimes and two nickels. I could sense its weightiness even among the other typical mundane coins. The store's music reached a crescendo as my left finger pushed aside the imposters of value to reveal the one majestic golden coin.

I see the majestic Eagle in flight with the Inscription: United States of America Twenty Dollars! Then turning, I gaze upon her glory holding up the torch of liberty high in her right hand, a branch of prosperity on her left, flowing robes of purity hanging to her left foot resting on bedrock firmament and looking back at her face ...is that a beard?
I wake up.
Darn, its still a dream.

Total Cash collected since Nov 2018 for the 'Go Fund my Pirate Ship' is $25.91 CAD

Just so miffed of the lack of Silver finds so I’ll pull this out of my Stack for that Silver Fix!

2012 20 Dollars - Elizabeth II Polar bear 0.9999 silver at 7.96 grams KM#1226 and a mintage of 250000 but I get the feeling a lot got melted down as these were not very popular. So a low actual net mintage? Let’s wait and see. The news it’s that the Bank of Canada ruled these unpopular coins as LEGAL TENDER, and that the Royal Bank (The complainant) is unwittingly stocking these at their main branches across Canada and it just may become very useful when the SHTF event happens.

Yea, you bagged a pair of silver dimes! Great! I got to up my game here. I'd like to score ONE silver coin by 2020. I'll need to check the machine in the Safeway next to the Retirement home more often. 😉☠

It will happen when you least expect it for sure. When I got mine I was not even supposed to be shopping and it shocked me.

Did you wake up in a cold sweat????? Nice hall considering.👍

Speaking of sweat, Yes, I was going over some 19th century European silver coins on Ebay, you know those impressive Coats of arms on the revereses and obverses of old bearded guys before I called it a day. I got to really wind down before going to sleep.

What a wonderful dream...!!! 😊
Amazing that your fingers have netted $25.91 CAD so far! You go, girl! 🙌

A Fringe benefit thought silver and GOLD is what I'm after with ZERO results so far. Got some foreign coins since I started, shopping cart tokens, metal box slug, a sheet metal screw and some US coins too. So I can continue to finance that pirate ship or buy a round of silver with it. @dwingsworld managed to score a pair of silver Rosie dimes from a Coinstar, Another girl I know in California found a Walking Liberty half.

A lovely dream... and I know that you daydream a lot, too! You have beautiful stories in your head, sis! Oh yeah, someday... you may find a gold coin in your favorite Coinstar machine!

May have to make a deal at the coming coin show in September for an Eagle if I can pull it off. Hoping no financial disaster to pay for before then. The Beard thing, I may just have a subconscious thing for sexy beards partially explained in my reply to @silverd510 s comment.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

The story of my life is filled with Dreams. "Is that a beard?" That often end abruptly so I'm just putting out there. Got something saved for Pirate Sunday, not the usual fare but something.

Perhaps an airship would be more affordable than a ship of the sea... :-)
Good haul on the coin returns!

That would be idea for the Lady Trishia McMillan Era of the Bloody Raven Circa 1890 - 1908 The Sky Pirate over London in the great black airship. I will consider that, thank you.

That's a great haul just for checking them out!

I have made a habit of putting all my loose change aside in a coffee bin. I don't use cash that much, so I don't get that much change, but I'm thinking there's $50 or so in there. I don't even know what I want to do with it. I just like seeing it accumulate.
