Strange pink sky over Poland

It was late Friday afternoon, temperature around 0 deg. Centigrade. And the sky just exploded in pink hues. I guess this happens when the smog hits levels which could turn human beings into mutants from outer space...

Here the sky is still golden, but it soon turned pink all the way

We were walking alongside Kielce's main river, the dirty gutter Silnica, through a park. Fortunately the river still possesses a reflective surface for the pink light to create interesting sparkles.

The blue hour hits, and the snow turns from white to deep blue...

We've found some ducks sleeping on the snow, but when I approached them to take a shot, they woke up.

And finally we reached the city pond, thru which the Silnica river flows. It's already twilight, there is no sky luminance anymore...

The fact is, next day was the most smoggy day in Kielce (and in many other Polish cities). The smog levels were reported as extremely unhealthy for people, and it was recommended to stay indoors. Perhaps such vivid pink skies are a good prediction for smog on next day...
