Primordial pagan forest in Poland
Well, used to be primordial, until it was turned into a tourist attraction, although it remains a strict nature preserve. It is called The Fir Forest, and we took a trip there in October 2017, during the Golden Polish Autumn time. We traversed a tourist forest trail, leading to the Saint Cross Monastery atop the mysterious Bald Mountain. More on that in future post.
As you can see, the trail is adorned with Christian Way of the Cross stations, sculpted in wood by rustic artisans.
Quite a crowd...
The trail is easy, it's made for pilgrims...
