Peyto Lake

This is Peyto Lake, in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. The distinctive colour of the lake comes from glacial sediments in the water. This is my entry for the #landscapephotography by @juliank. Thanks for taking a look! Please click for a closer view.

Such pretty nature! It almost looks unnatural! I like that there's a person in the picture with the contrast red jacket :)

Thank you very much! I have identical photos with and without the person in the red coat... I decided I liked the human figure. I almost always try to include people in my landscape shots wherever possible.

I like it! Great choice to include the human. It's very subtle. Not noticed at first glance... :)

I never get tired of the mountains or glacier lakes. Beautiful shot....I like the person enjoying the scenery on the right. It's interesting too how the clouds are in line with the rock striations. Interesting.

Thank you, I'm glad you like the shot. I could have wished for better clouds I think... or at least I should say I've seen shots from here with spectacular sunsets & clouds. Maybe next time :)

that is an amazing view!! I love Banff!

Thank you Shaun! This is what you see from the first viewing platform. There is another point much higher up that is supposed to have much better views, but my wife and I got "lost" on the trails and never reached it.

I'd LOVE to see this in person!

It is amazing, all through Yoho, Banff and Jasper parks. The best scenery, you would love it. You should visit :)

Someday I will!

What can I say Keith.......except Phenomenal! You and your camera make a magnificent team. Congratulations on your special mention from @daveks He knows how to recognize quality when he sees it!

Thanks so much @Trudeehunter and thank you for telling me what our friend @daveks has done, I was a little behind. Wow, thank you Dave, I'm blown away!

That's beautiful, Keith! I love how the mountains further back (almost centre) seem to be 'falling' over! Love how the erosion lines are so clear here.
