Ways To Cook Eggs

Eggs can be cooked almost anyway you can think of, It's amazing. The runny inside helps make your dish savory and full flavor. Back in my ramen noodle post, I mentioned how I like to boil my eggs, but remove them early so the yolk in the middle is still a bit runny. The yolk runs over my noodles adding a ton of delicious flavor in every bite.

Hard boiled:

This is when they are hard, And you can remove the shell after cooking. This is what you see during Easter haha.
You simply boil the eggs for 10 minutes on the stove.

Soft boiled:

This is how I do my eggs, They are like hard boiled eggs, But the yolk is runny. You boil for about 5-6 minutes to achieve this result. Depending on how you want your eggs.

Poached:

Another one of my favorites! These are often difficult to pull off though. It might be a fun date night activity! Hahaha!

~ Get your water super hot, Add a tablespoon of vinegar. DONT be too generous with the vinegar. Unless you want your egg to taste like that.

~ Put your raw egg cracked, into a bowl. Be careful not to break the yolk. Then gently release it into the water, Without the shell. Sometimes creating a whirlpool in the water helps hold the egg together.

~ Remove in about five minutes.

Sunny Side up

Another favorite of mine... Maybe I just love eggs LOL
This is when you get that nice liquid yolk in the middle. Cook the egg until it's starting to brown on the bottom, Then very gently flip it without breaking the yolk. Once it's cooked, Enjoy.

Scrambled.

Probably one of the easier ones, Just put your eggs in the pan after stirring them and turning them into a "whipped" texture. This creates a balance of white and egg in every bite. Pour mixture into a hot pan on the stove and cook,
Remember Cook eggs slowly on lower heats except with hard boiled poached etc. Otherwise, it gives your eggs a nasty rubber texture.

You can scramble eggs with a mix of
~ Vegetables
~ Tons of cheese
~ Spices, and potatoes.

Omelettes

Are also hard to make. It's similar to making a scrambled egg. But you leave the egg flat. And once the whole circular egg is cooked on the bottom you gently flip it to cook the other side. You then add your ingredients like cheese, Vegetables and potatoes to the side of the omelet then fold it in half like a taco. It's like an "egg taco."

There are more ways to cook eggs, But these are some of the more well known. Eggs are something people need to eat more of; Eggs are low in fat, and high in protein. They are delicious and versatile, Cheap and nutrition. Eggs are like a dream come true for our bodies.
If you eat a ton of eggs, It may be better to remove the yolks on at least some of them. The yolk is high in cholesterol, while the white isn't. Eating the white is only about 15 calories per egg!

Eggcelent post as always. :)

Heheh thank you :) I'm Eggcited that you checked out my post

did you know that if you coat your entire egg with food grade Mineral oil and place it small end up back into the egg carton that you can store your eggs outside of the refrigerator for 6 to 9 months without them spoiling. I have been doing this for my family for over a year now and spend less as I buy in bulk when they go on sale. If your unsure of this practice, try it and when you go to use the egg, just submerge it in a glass of water if it floats its gone bad. I have only encountered 1 egg in 9 cartons that have gone bad. I store mine in my basement on a shelf. So a cool dry place is best place to store them. Once a month you should go down and flip the egg carton over. Good article about eggs thanks

No way . I never knew this, I'm going to have to try it . But first I must ask what is food grade mineral oil ?, and where dose one buy it ? .

Food grade mineral Oil can be found in your local pharmacy. Here in Canada I get a big bottle for about $7. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the tip. I also live in Canada. 🇨🇦

Wow that is awesome I"ll have to get some too.

This is new information, but very interesting. While I was visiting in Mexico, they had all their eggs out a room temperature. I was told it is because they didn't wash them and they still had a protective coating. Eggs in the US generally come washed, so your method makes sense. I've used the floating trick on cartons that were past their expiration. Never once did I have one that was bad. Thanks for the tips!

Yes! Shoot why didn't I put that in the article :) That is such an amazing trick ! I love it.

You don't need to worry about the cholesterol in eggs. It doesn't really affect your cholesterol levels: https://health.clevelandclinic.org/2015/02/why-you-should-no-longer-worry-about-cholesterol-in-food/

I agree @telos. Fresh eggs from healthy chickens have benefits.

THIS. Such a huge misconception that has been repeated for ages. I wish we would focus on getting to the bottom of many of these so called health truths.

No. Eggs are not healthy or ethical and do increase your risk of heart disease and diabetes.

The cholesterols that stick to the sides of blood vessels are manufactured by the body in response to high blood sugar from high starch and sugar diets. The cholesterols in eggs are not, and not only this, the more delicate heat sensitive cholesterols in the yolk are in fact precursors for sex hormones. The only problem with eggs as I see it is the white is a 'hard protein' which is slow to break down in bile. In some animals, it even causes anemia by binding up critical proteins in blood. The white must be cooked completely. The yolk you should try to leave it runny and not make it go completely hard. Frying eggs is a good way to make this happen, but you should use high omega fatty acid oils to cook them in because this defends against the oxidative damage that can make the oils somewhat toxic.

Also, I don't watch videos with so-called 'information' that the poster cannot be bothered to give a brief summary that shows they even understand the information contained therein. I don't have a fat pipe to my house for wasting on videos the poster can't even be bothered to explain why I should waste my time watching.

And explain to me what is so ethical about mechanised farming of highly bred varieties of plants that requires the eradication of hundreds of animal species in order to do. I guess you must be one of these vegans who buys the snake oil that somehow you are immune to the necessity that almost all living things depend on the death of other living things. Not even considering the fact that some living things profit at the expense of others anyway.

Morality in food production is not as simple as don't eat something from animals. Animals die no matter whether you eat only vegetables or not, and at least the critters go to a useful purpose. Animals killed to protect plant crop production just rot on the ground.

The cholesterol in eggs does contribute to the progression of atherosclerosis. This build up in the arteries. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/9001684/

The cholesterols the body manufactures do do what you say, however the cholesterol in eggs do contribute to this process. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/10704618/

Since the arteries are getting clogged with the help of eating eggs regularly, this is a contributor of heart disease. http://nutritionfacts.org/2013/09/10/eggs-vs-cigarettes-in-atherosclerosis/

I don't know why you are saying this. Because it is not the cholesterol in eggs directly?

Now like you say animals die in plant-food production. This is true and obviously I don't think it is moral.

Are you saying this to change the subject to look for hypocrisy? Or is this a justification for what happens in the egg industry?

If in my hypocrisy, well I know how to contribute to a reduction in the egg industry and so I will. A reduction would mean less hens, caged or free-range, being exploited to produce eggs for us, and less male chicks being killed in a grinder.

With the eradication of species from farming plants that I eat, you tell me? Obviously I do not think this is moral so if I knew how to reduce this I would.

And as for the eradication of species from farming plants that are used for chicken feed, well again I do know how to contribute to it's reduction.

Nowhere do I see a justification to continue eating farmed eggs because I'm a hypocrite that doesn't know how to reduce every instance of animal death.

Yes you are right animals are dying in every instance of food production. Which direction however leads to less and less animals dying in all industries?

And you were right that I couldn't be bothered late last night.

I used to hate eggs because my mom would make eggs every morning and she cooks everything on high. The smell of over cooked eggs is so nasty! Once i moved in with my boyfriend he taught me the basics to making eggs and now he says i make the best eggs he's ever tasted and I am starting to enjoy eggs a lot more.

If you decide to go with the hard-boiled/soft-boiled variety, this video will help you peel them much more easily. Seriously, try it.

@brandonp upvote for posting a tim ferriss video. I listen to his podcast all the time and have incorporated so many of his rituals into my daily routine.

Another method is to put boiled eggs back into a jar with little water in it and shake them with some force (side to side for few seconds). This will fracture the shell and allow water go get under it making peeling super easy.
Your method looks more Harry Potterish, I like that :)

I gave credit :) I found it on the website called Unsplash.

I love eggs my goodness. You made me decide to go fry eggs right now. I love it with a lot of onions and the perfect amount of salt :) Going to heat the oil, for real :)

I also had to jump up and crank up the frypan and make me some sunny side up as well.

Good heeh :) I'm glad I convinced you to eat some eggs lol.

Where is the bacon? Just kidding it looks good, makes me hungry.
