All too much in one daysteemCreated with Sketch.

The whole family started the day at the funeral of a family member - a lady who became almost 96... it was overwhelmingly touching for me for some reason.. she was the last of the old generation in my family, one of the old oaks as someone said.

Yesterday night I read that Troels Wörsel had died. He is probably the contemporary artists that has influenced me most. A great painter and the best one we have had in Denmark in generations. Also a very nice man.

"Flag" 1991 by Troels Wörsel

Then I had to hurry home to help my wife prepare the last things for a julefrokost, a Christmas meal for which English speaking people use the Swedish word, "Smörgåsbord." A kind of buffet with Danish rye bread as the central part.

A very fun afternoon and evening (It start as a lunch and when you have been at the table long enough you realise that it is dinner time and then you keep eating and drinking).

It was my old artists friends and they are a hilarious bunch. The third cameo in my comics is one of them, and his wife was so glad to see him as a Welsh corgi that she will now buy a sheep costume so he can herd her. Each to their own! The subject was brought up endless times only surpassed by the subject: "Beyond horniness," which seemed to be a failed project of one of my other friends.

At the right is the Welsh corgi, that is a dream vision of Mr. Gerome Beatty-Philpot - a character that will soon appear in the comic.

And now I just saw that Vincent (@vcelier) have sent me a html file over all my Steemit files. Such a fine and useful gift! Thanks a lot for that.

Time for bed, and for unemotional rest on top of a all to emotional day.

We DO use the word smorgasbord, that's funny. As soon as I read that word I pictured a wonderful spread which did include rye bread and smoked salmon and such.

Well, I am happy that after the smobre note of a funeral you were able to have the jovial cheer of friends and fellow artists. We have to always TRY to live each day as best we can as we've a limited number of them.

I'll drink a toast to your past old 'oak' and your fallen 'favourite aritst' as well. skol (isn't that a nordic toast ?)

Yes, it is indeed: SKÅÅÅÅÅÅÅL. One of the few words that sounds precisely the same in Swedish, Danish, Icelandic, Norwegian and Faroese :)

Now it is Monday and a nice calm has settled over the apartment. I just poured myself a glass of Swedish aquavit in their honour.

Skål!

You are welcome.

Quite a day!

the Welsch Corgi character get two thumbs up & and 96 times around our Sun is indeed a long journey.

I already look forward to including the corgi guy in the comics. It is always a hard job to begin drawing a character and learning how to actually do it, especially when it is a caricature of a real person. But it will be funny I am sure.

And yes, she had an rich and colourful life - much sorrow and much joy. I am happy to have known her.

Condolences, @katharsisdrill ... Almost 96 years ! That's definitely a grand dame.

Also I didn't know about Troels Wörsel, but now I do. It is sad that he has passed away. Such talents!

Your illustration looks great :) They'd bring very interesting dynamics, no doubt !

Cute doggo and the overall drawing is great too. Nice inking as always. That doggo's face is mesmerising :D.

I am looking forward to include this new character.

Sorry @katharsisdrill...
About your loss, condolences.

Thanks. She was very old, so nature had its way. But sad none the less.
