It's time to show you the human version of this interesting RP character. ^.^
Well, it's obvious 'cause this is my favorite part of the digital illustration.
If you're interested, here's her Transformation Test Sketch.

And this is very important, I was inspired by the gorgeous model Anastasia Shcheglova.
You can see the reference photo bellow :

To make a human version I had to go back to the initial sketch, deleting every alien looking features from the previous work. Sad but I kept it on a different file. ;)
I left the chest part and the background. After that decided to add some details for her dress. At that time I wasn't really sure about the design but wanted to keep this lace type like the original photo. It would've been much easier to just copy the pattern (as I already used the pose) but wanted to create my interpretation, to show my view as an artist (or just experimenter).

Next step was to add shading on the skin a some base for the dress. I'm not very good with braids but experimented with some double braid hairstyle to add additional volume to the head. My next task/challenge was to create jewelry for the back and chest. The idea was born during the role-play game we're doing with my colleague and friend Rossy.

Next is the part where things get really fun. One of my previous posts was how to make pattern from a single picture, but again, why take the easy path when I can spend an hour or more doing everything by hand? :D As I did eventually.
One of the main disadvantages of the pattern is that if it's made as an effect, it can not be deformed. Which means it stays "flat" and doesn't have perspective.
So every detail was made by hand. For the pearl effect I used different spacing of the brush and some Bevel and Emboss.
You can see the difference in spacing here:

It was finally time to add sleeves to contrast the jewelry top. Some additional shading to the hair and... I wasn't satisfied with the background but wanted to finish detailing the body first. Also the hair looked a bit plain and needed more work - the contrast between the dress and head was too big and disturbed the composition.

Well, the hair looks much better. I added more shadows and highlights, also some white contours to pop more from the background (and to corresponds with the back light). As I was about to wrap this up, something still bothered me. So I kept going...

And this is the final result. Now there's a connection between the body and background. Also the flowing air around her represents motion, moving energy... or whatever you want, dear ones! ^.^

Wow, this was a long journey. But we're not finished.
Here's a GIF as a small present for those who had the patience to read it all:

Thank you, @veryspider! Glad you had the patience to see it till the end. It came out longer than I planned. :D

Nice bevel and emboss trick. I haven't seen that before.
Nice values and likeness on your painting.

Thank you, @pixelcolada! Glad you like it! ^.^

Wow this is great!

Man that dress, my hand is sore looking at it XD Worth the effort though, came out beautifully. Do the transform tools not work on the effect thing? Love how soft the hair looks!

Thank you, @ryivhnn! It was totally worth the effort! ^.^
Unfortunately the Pattern Overlay effect can't be controlled by the transform tools. But there is a solution - if the layer is flattened with another (blank) layer, the effect becomes image and that way can be transformed. ;)

Hi @katalinaooma wow amazing i really like it

Just discovered your amazing artworks today after following @steemartists. Is your artwork an outlet from your studies or is it related in some way?

Thank you, @plushzilla! Glad you like them! ^.^ My friend invited me on Steemartists - it's a great community with lots of incredible talents.
Thank you for your question! It started that way, yes. It helped me release my stress from studies and work. But now it's more related to my thesis (because the topic is about the visual forms, images, illustrations). So I had to draw more that 100 illustrations, but can't show them until the graduation.
These works I'm posting on Steemit - they're all done for fun and pleasure. ;)

Wow, thank you for the upvote and resteem. ^.^

You've done it again @katalinaooma
It's amazing how mastering values can make a piece pleasing to the eyes.

Thank you, @adamada! ^.^
This was actually made last year for a small exhibition. ^.^

Wow! This is amazing! I'm so sorry I found this so late :/
My favorite part is probably her hair :D
Drawing good looking hair takes more patience than I have. xD

Thank you! I'm glad you like it! ^.^
That is how I learn to be patient - by drawing hair. :D
