in #gardening โ€ข 6 years ago (edited)

I have started experimenting with my garden, i grew flowers last year this year i added fruit and vegetables.

FRUITS
TAYBERRY
RASPBERRY
KIWI
BLACKBERRY
BLUEBERRY

The KIWI didn't grow but the others seem to be going the right way.

VEGETABLES
CARROTS
BEETROOT
BROCCOLI
SPRING ONION
PEPPER

I haven't had much success other than 3 Carrots and 3 Beetroot.

A couple of weeks ago i was in a funny mood, i went through my Vegetable seeds choosing a couple of packets but not looking what they are, i opened them then spread a few seeds alongside my carrots. I havent a clue what i chose. WELL They have started to show.

I am hoping they continue to grow, cant wait to find out what they are.

As you sow, so shall you reap.
It won't be long before you know what you will have plenty of.
When you started this year, you were going to plant a few seeds every couple of weeks, write your results down for next year, did that puppy eat your notebook?

Not yet but she has eaten everything else. I have planted a few but ran out of pots :( going to look for some larger ones for next year as i have a plan. A large pot full of carrots but every 4 carrots planted a week a part, then I should get a good amount plus not waste any plus do the same with the beettroot. :)

How does your butter/marg come? How about your jam? The takeaway Indian?
Instead of throwing the plastic containers out, drill, cut small drainage holes in the bottom, fill with potting mix, plant\ transplant your flowers, above ground veggies, put them around the back in the sunniest place, see what happens.
At worst, you have delayed throwing the rubbish out for a while, at best, the whole back garden is producing.

I saved all of them to start this year off, I need to get some shelves up in my back garden, its a lot bigger than my side garden but doesn't get the sun as much :)

If the slave is too busy to put up a shelf, try, 2 or 3 concrete blocks on the ground at 1/4 of a long plank of wood spacing.
Make the blocks 2 high for spacing.
Lay the first plank over the blocks.
Repeat until you are tall enough.
Leave a block on top of the top plank to stop the wind blowing it away.
Have a try, as the Bishop said to the Actress, " Have a go, you might like it" and it is simple enough for you to do if the slave is busy

I am going to do this in my back garden to start my plants off next year. So much more space plus easier to rotate :)

And so much better than a fountain full of fish

I totally agree :)

I am glad you added some edibles this year.

Me too, I can't wait to try them :)

Maybe they just want to have company...can't wait to see what grows!
