The Art of Marko Karadjinovic

My name is Marko Karadjinovic.
I am an artist/painter located in Novi Sad, Serbia,

and i would like to use this opportunity to make an introduction about myself, and my art.

ABOUT ME:

I was born on 20th April 1992 in city Novi Sad, country Serbia.
Since i was a little child i was fascinated with Illustrations from Brothers Grimm fairytale books and with paintings which surrounded me at my parents home. I remember these paintings and illustrations being alive, some were indeed very dark and beautiful to me at the same time. And little by little i started to draw and paint.
My first drawings were created at the time when i was 3 years old, and since then i was always painting and drawing.
My first oil paintings were created at the time when i was 13,14 years old and this is the time when i sensed what powerful and full of life this medium is, and really fell in love with it.

This is one really dear painting to me, done when i was 18 years old.

In this period i traveled to Netherlands to improve my painting skills and entered the Academy of classical painting in Serbia. I was obsessed with old masters, actually i always will be. I went to see many exhibitions, was trying to get any old or contemporary master books , monographs that i could , so i would learn more.
In 2012. i received an award for best student, and in year 2013. i graduated from the Academy of classical painting.
Few years after, in search for more knowledge, i went to workshop at the Florence Academy of Art in Sweden.
I participated in many collective exhibitions.
Currently i am working in my studio in Serbia, creating my art.

ABOUT MY ART:

Themes in my art are mainly associated with spirituality, occult, mythology, alchemy.

My paintings are always on the verge of dark and light, as we are, as day and night.

I always had this feeling of sacred presence while standing in front of old masterpieces, as if they were breathing... And i always felt that art is a road to immortality, road of knowing thy self...
And with these feelings and beliefs, i create my own art..
