Thursday Green: rain makes everything greener, ฝนทำให้ทุกอย่างเขียวขจี

We have officially entered rainy season which will last three months. This means we could expect flooding and traffic jams in big cities, flash floods and mud slides in mountainous areas in the north. Around our area, the wooded land has become very green and jungle like, I would be careful about snakes around those dark places. The trees are much bigger and greener everywhere.

We had to ask a villager with a big grass mower to help us with the wild grasses and weeds in front of the house. If we just let all wild vegetation turned into semi jungle, we would have to encounter snakes! So, it’s better to frighten all snakes away with loud noises!

ฝนตกชุกมาก จนทำให้หญ้าและวัชพืชโตรวดเร็ว อย่างไม่น่าเชื่อ. จนต้องไปขอให้ชาวบ้านที่มีเครื่องตัดหญ้าขนาดใหญ่ มาช่วยตัดหญ้าหน้าบ้าน เพีาะถ้าปล่อยให้รกเหมือนป่าละเมาะ งูคงมาหากินแถวนี้แน่นอน. จึงต้องคอยระวังไม่ให้หญ้ารกเกินไป

ต้นเฟินข้าหลวงต้นนี้ได้มาเกือบสิบปีแล้ว เพื่อนรุ่นพี่ให้มาตั้งแต่ต้นมันยังนิดเดียว ตอนนี้มันโตใหญ่มาก เหมือนเหินยักษ์สมัยก่อนเลย

This plant was a gift from an old friend several years ago. When it came, its size was a bout five inches. Now it has become a giant fern or the biggest fern in my garden. Time goes by too fast.
