Introduction for LinkSeven77

Hey There SteemVerse,

So I finally got it done. I actually had this done earlier, but I guess I had so many questions about where I wanted to go with this and I finally was ready to share this. I have done similar challenges in the past. Here are a couple if you really want to get to know me better.

10 Facts 1 Lie

To be honest, until I came on to this platform, I had been a very reserved person. I am not so generous with information about me or my family. Which is why it took me a really long time to even want to do anything with social media. There are just too many weirdos out there. To top it, I wasn't particularly fond of people.... it's a long story which I am not ready to share... not today.

But I was pleasantly surprised at some Steemians that I had met. I mean they could still be weirdos hahaha, but I just got a really good feels about them. It helped me open up little by little, and the next thing you know they had created Frankenstein. I was regurgitating all my secrets, dragging out all the skeletons in my closet... what have you done?? hahaha Ok, not all skeletons are out... the scary ones are still locked up for safe keeping ;p

The bottom of all this though, the reason why I really do this, is because I want to create some memories. I happen to he an old parent, having had my first in my mid 30s. And my Mum had dementia. Or maybe it was just the mass in her head that the Non Hodgkins Lymphoma had deposited in her head. Either way, by the time she was in her mid 60s, she started forgetting things. Slowly at first, and then it was right down to forgetting even how many kids she had, sometimes.

There were things I wanted to learn from her, but I was so caught up with work and my kids, I just didn't spend enough time getting to know her as a person. Not enough. Not the little things. I knew the present stuff, but I didn't know her as a little girl, I didn't know many things about her as a young woman. I knew the mother side of things but not her as a woman. I wish I had taken the time.

I don't know if my kids would feel this way about me. Because in your teens you are caught up with finding yourself, then in early adulthood it continues, then you get married, you have your own kids, you are frazzled. Then one day your Mother is gone, and you are thinking damn it!! I didn't even learn how to make that awesome Crab Curry she cooks or how she cooked rice without a rice cooker.

So this is why I really blog and vlog. To make memories, to leave memories. And with technology, it has become even easier. Maybe someday if not my kids, maybe my grandkids, or great grandkids can get to know me a little better.
