The Not So White Bougainvillea

One of the things I enjoy taking photograph’s of are Flowers. I don’t really have a favorite, I adore any flower. This morning the bougainvillea in our back garden caught my attention.

Shame, @therneau bought it thinking it would be white, but as it started growing and blooming we noticed that this was definitely not the case. We still laugh about it to this day. Jokes aside, this was actually the first thing we planted in our garden all those years ago. I was pregnant with our first child and we had just moved into our new house. When I was pregnant I read somewhere, don’t ask me where as that was ages ago 😊, that you should plant a tree and it can grow as your child grows. Well that is exactly what happened fortunately, as @therneau and myself are not very good gardeners. Trust me, more have died than survived and now we only buy plants that have the words “hardy and resilient” in the description 😊.

My son standing next to the bougainvillea now. It just goes to show how much can change in nine years.He was still in my tummy and this plant was around half my son's current height when we planted it. Excuse his expression, seems that smiling nicely in a photo is not an option anymore haha.

Photography is one of my hobbies that I enjoy immensely. There truly is something amazing about seeing something and then seeing it through the lens of your camera. I still remember when I was a child and received my first camera, it was love at first sight, and I’ve been taking photo’s ever since.
