Being spelled with trees in Tree Tuesday

in #art7 years ago

Everything started on Zlatibor mountain, one misty day, on my walk to lake..Pines in mist..I felt like someone put a spell on me..
I took photos, many of them that morning..It was like me and trees only, like entering into myself, some forgotten part of soul, like pagan woman is reaching me from inside..

When I came home, took papers and started painting watercolors, trying to call back all those feelings that overwhelmed me in front of pines..
And after seven years I am still painting trees..

First serious cycle of painting was made in 2014, called Return.. At that moment while I was paintings, I was also reading a lot about trees, human connection with them, religion connection, especially in part of world I live..
And it was not so pleasant confirming to myself what I already knew somewhere..we have abandoned nature and trees, and at the same moment we have abandoned ourselves..and here is why I think that -

When I was 20 years old I came from small town at Adriatic, to live in big city, far away from nature...You see, I think people in nature have better connection with themselves, they talk and hear themselves, in city noise and rush there is no place and no time...not the way you have it in nature..

Now I know I had privilege being raised so close to nature, sea, forests..

Now from time to time, I go to city park, sit under my favorite huge white Sycamore trees, who are also very often my ''models'' and just look up into their magical crowns and white skin.

:) @marty-arts, first one is still mine, and not sure if I will ever sell it...I like it too, thank you!

I would also keep it for myself :D Just yeasterday I realised I should change on of my paintings I have on the wall above the bed, because it doesnt fit to the others... you inspired me, thank you! :)

Thanks, it's this place here, since I'm on Steemit I feel like huge kick of creativity :)
And don't mind the painting on wall, I have sort of mad house on walls :)

me too! its good motivation :)
I have on wall with all kind of stuff too, but the one above bed has 5 painting.. 4 are with floral motives and one just abstract chaos.. I dont like it anymore :D not in this combination... and I am excited about painting something new :)

Very beautiful, @jungwatercolor ! I really like the second one and that contrast between those two halves!

They're mesmerizing and absolutely stunning. It reminds me of my childhood and how I was always looking up at the trees.

Still doing that @vermillionfox, lucky me there are places still that can be done :)

Very lucky. :)

I love the second painting its gorgeous!

Thank you @dutchess, I see we share same passion for trees.

Love them! 🌴🌳🌲🍃

These are stunning. Clearly coming from a deep place. Thank you for sharing and being so vulnerable when you pick up your brush!

@stonemaiden, yes they do come from inside, I must admit I have one large tree going to my 4th floor, and sometimes in the morning I wish him good morning :) I just see them as part of us, like we are part of everything..but that's the story I'm going to tell in some new blogs. Thanks for nice comment :)

Oh yes! Looking forward to more of this story!

How very beautiful! I love trees and I actually planted a few myself in the back yard. Three of them apple trees and it seems like a miracle every year to see them growing and producing their tasty fruit.

I grew up in the countryside and I think this is where I get my inner strength.

@reinhard-schmid, I knew we had something in common :) Still don't have my own trees but one day...I dream of forest :)
My good friend says when she gets angry at her husband and kid..one day I will leave all of you and go to forest, and live in small house on the tree :)
Happy you like my trees

Trees are one of my favourite subjects, and you capture the souls of these so beautifully.

@opheliafu, thank you very much, I do love them, being among trees makes me sometimes so peaceful, maybe that's what I'm trying to bring out in my paintings.

I like your trees and your connection to a nature.

I'm glad to find your blog.

@allfabeta, thank you, hope you will find more staff you like here, more trees are coming :) Like I said, I'm being spelled :)
