In Depth: BOSE SoundSport Wireless Headphones
Around three weeks ago, I bought myself a pair of BOSE SoundSport Wireless Headphones, as my main earpiece when I'm in the gym or on the go, commuting around town. Right now it's on 3rd charge cycle, which I think the sound presentation had fully settled for a in depth review.
Fitment and Battery Life
Those winged tip fit like a charm for me. Those silicons tips are slightly on the stiff side for the few several tries, as slight pain around the ear canal develop around two hour mark. Then after around 6 hours of usage, the tips finally soften and the pain is no more. The tips are easily removable, and I soak them in mildly soapy water weekly when I charge the headphones, to keep them clean.
These headphones are huge. They do hinder some movement, especially those require you to raise your arm high. Yet the heft somewhat remind me that they are there, especially when they are not inserted and dangling around my neck, which in turn provides some sort of reassurance.
Battery life is as advertised, around 6 hours per charge. That's enough for me to get it through my weekly gym routine. Other might need to be reminded about this issue and reconsider if your workout somehow exceed 6 hours. I found that there is a charging case on sale in BOSE USA, which is a great add-ons if you always on the go. The case is on sale in eBay, cost around USD$50.

So far I have yet to experience any drop out, stuttering, distortion and any sort of connectivity issue inside a crowded gym. Also, these tips do isolate very well, basically blocking all noise even without playing anything.
Sound Performance
Since this is my primary workout earpiece, I blasted myself with EDM, Traps, Dubs, Chills and many more, hoping that I can run bit faster and further.
These headphones able to provide punchy bass, with very clear vibes and grooves, avoiding to be gaudy at the extreme low ends. Their ability to provide enough space for the vocal overlays is also a plus point, considering the size of the drivers.
Next up, some Electronics. I enjoyed this song a lot due the mix of drums, bass and synthesizer. With these headphones, I can enjoy the cripiness of each beat, without losing the clarity on some of the higher notes. Then the weakness of a small drive will be very clear on this song, circa 2 minutes mark where it's getting busy, I felt that some of the edges are less defined.
Last but not least, some rapid firing beats and top off with pianos. SoundSport again perform above my expectation, as those beats through out the first 2 minute mark is precise and clear. When the pianos cuts in by the 2:20 mark, oh boy those notes, I think this is some of the clearest notes I ever heard on small driver.
Again, thanks for reading. See you all next time!
